ROUNDUP: Campbell’s runner at the buzzer gives Coronado boys OT win

Teyshawn Campbell banked in a 25-foot runner at the overtime buzzer to give Coronado’s boys basketball team a 75-72 victory over Southeast League rival Foothill on Saturday at Cox Pavilion.

Campbell scored 15 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to help the Cougars (7-6, 5-1) complete a dramatic rally past the Falcons (9-8, 5-1).

Dominique Muhammad’s tip-in with one second left in regulation tied the game at 62 to force overtime, after Foothill’s Brannon Cresanto made 1 of 2 free throws with 39.8 seconds remaining for a 62-60 lead.

Muhammad, Michael Louder and Austin Moiseyev each scored 12 points for Coronado, which outscored Foothill 22-15 in the fourth period.

Lamar Walker, who later won the Big City Showdown Challenge slam dunk contest, added five points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots for the Cougars.

Cresanto paced Foothill with 25 points, and Greg Cox scored 12 for the Falcons.

The Meadows 88, Agassi Prep 82 — At The Meadows, Max Newman was 5-for-6 from the free-throw line in overtime to propel the Mustangs over the Stars.

Garrett Gosse scored 32 points to lead The Meadows, and hit a 3-pointer from the right corner at the buzzer of regulation to tie the game at 74 and force overtime.

Newman added 23 points, Matt Biafore scored 12, and Richard Lee had 11 for the Mustangs (14-4), who took over first place in the Class 2A Southern League at 7-0.

Anson Williams led Agassi Prep with 32 points, and DeCari Lide scored 20 for the Stars (14-4, 6-1).

Mountain View 70, Calvary Chapel 31 — At Mountain View, Matt Larson had 19 points to lead four double-figure scorers as the Saints blew out the Lions.

Joseph Gueverra scored all 12 of his points on 3-pointers for Mountain View, which got 13 points from T.J. Kissinger and 10 points from Travis Wallace.

Ryan Barten led Calvary Chapel with 11 points.

Lincoln County 75, Laughlin 47 — At Laughlin, Ryan Rippetoe had 16 points, and Derek Cheeney scored 14 as the Lynx routed the Cougars.

Chandler Katschke added 10 points for Lincoln County, which outscored Laughlin 31-12 in the fourth quarter.

Colton Hill led Laughlin with 23 points.

GIRLS

Agassi Prep 53, The Meadows 40 — At The Meadows, Javoluee Green had 18 points to lead the Stars over the Mustangs.

Shanel Andrews added 13 points, and Noelle Chavis scored 12 for Agassi Prep, which led 30-13 at the half.

Melanie Mayes led The Meadows with 14 points.

Lincoln County 51, Laughlin 20 — At Laughlin, Tia Florence scored 19 points to help the Lynx rout the Cougars.

Jaycee Wasworth added 11 points for Lincoln County, which opened the game with a 12-2 run.

Destiny Anderson led Laughlin with 13 points.

Mountain View 49, Calvary Chapel 38 — At Mountain View, Briana Marruffo had 22 points and was 10-for-12 from the free-throw line to help the Saints down the Lions.

Marruffo was 6-for-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

Kiley Murphy added 10 points for the Saints.

Deja Harris led Calvary Chapel with 24 points.

Parowan (Utah) 51, Pahranagat Valley 42 — At Parowan, Utah, Chennin Benson scored 26 points to help the Rams top the Panthers.

Parowan led only 19-18 at the half, but used a 20-11 third-quarter run to pull away. The Rams made 18 of 23 free throws, compared to 7 of 13 for the Panthers.
