Roundup: Brian Washington drops 27, game-winner for Cimarron

Brian Washington scored 27 points, including the game-winning layup, to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s boys basketball team to a 50-48 road win at Shadow Ridge on Thursday night.

Ricky Singleton and Brian Lang each scored eight points for the Spartans.

After Washington’s layup gave the Spartans a 50-48 lead with under a minute to play, the Mustangs were not able to score in two trips down the floor.

Richard Box scored 15 points to lead Shadow Ridge.

Palo Verde 49, Faith Lutheran 48 — At Faith Lutheran, Thomas Truman scored 17 points as the Panthers escaped against the Crusaders.

The Crusaders missed a shot at the buzzer and were fouled, but the referees conferred and said the foul occurred after the buzzer and the game was over.

Tieman Allen had 11 points for the Panthers.

Brevin Walter scored 13 points for the Crusaders, who got nine points from Elijah Kothe in his season debut after suffering a broken collarbone during football season.

Legacy 82, Arbor View 66 — At Arbor View, D’Eric Marlowe poured in a game-high 31 points as the Longhorns got by the Aggies.

Cristian Pitts had 10 points for Legacy, which made seven 3-pointers.

Favor Chukwukelu scored 20 points, and teammate Comillion Smith had 19 points to lead Arbor View.

Liberty 73, Green Valley 54 — At Liberty, Julian Strawther had 25 points and eight rebounds to lead the Patriots past the Gators.

Cameron Burist added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for Liberty, which connected on seven 3-pointers to pull away from the Gators.

Kendall Nether scored 17 points to lead the Gators, and Michael Jackson scored 13.

Cheyenne 62, Western 46 — At Cheyenne, Damion Bonty scored 13 points to lead 12 scorers, and the Desert Shields got by the Warriors.

Hahsonie Laushaul and Ke’Shawn Hall each added 10 points for Cheyenne, which led 36-20 at halftime.

Keanu McGee and Tristan Aniar each supplied 10 points to pace Western.

Durango 82, Spring Valley 58 — At Spring Valley, Anthony Hunter scored 28 points, and teammate Vernell Watts had 20 points to power the Trailblazers by the Grizzlies.

Nicquel Blake had 13 points for Durango, which led 34-20 at halftime.

Jahlani Blair had 18 points for the Grizzlies, and James Webster and Keelan Wickersham each scored 14.

Mojave 71, Pahrump Valley 53 — At Pahrump, Chris Jackson scored 22 points to lead the Rattlers past the Trojans.

Noah Sherrard scored 13 points, while John Harper and Tyrice Pender each scored 10 for Mojave, which used a 25-8 second-quarter run to take control of the game.

Cory Bergan scored 17 points to lead the Trojans, and Brayden Severt added 13 points.

Foothill 77, Silverado 41 — At Silverado, Marvin Coleman scored 22 points as the Falcons rolled past the Skyhawks.

Dylan Hushaw added 20 points for Foothill, which connected on 14 three-pointers.

Martell Williams scored 14 points to lead the Skyhawks, while Caden Farley added 13 points.

Coronado 91, Basic 46 — At Coronado, Jaden Hardy scored 24 points to lead the Cougars past the Wolves.

Eric Alston scored 17 points, Tyrelle Hunt scored 14 and Tahj Comeaux added 10 points for Coronado.

Geoff Faries scored 16 points to lead the Wolves.

Lake Mead 47, The Meadows 40 — At The Meadows, Kaiaokumulani Madela had 16 points, and Joshua Thorell scored 15 as the Eagles beat the Mustangs.

Kevin Riska led The Meadows with 15 points, and teammate Noah Klein scored 10.

Democracy Prep 70, Adelson School 30 — At Democracy Prep, Najeeb Muhammad scored 18 points, and teammate Daniel Plummer had 17 points to lead the Blue Knights past the Lions.

Jared Holmes added 12 points for Democracy Prep, which jumped out to a 36-17 lead at the half.

Miles Hagan had eight points to lead Adelson School.

SLAM Academy 71, Word of Life 41 — At SLAM Academy, Londan Coleman scored 30 points as the Bulls stormed past the Eagles.

Jalen Cunningham added 27 points for SLAM Academy, which started the game with a 15-5 first-quarter run.

Isaac Lopez scored 17 points, and Cheikou Kouyate scored 10 points for the Eagles.

Indian Springs 45, Laughlin 39 — At Laughlin, the Thunderbirds beat the Cougars.
