ROUNDUP: Brewer’s double-double helps Cimarron boys outlast Cheyenne

Erik Brewer had 20 points and 17 rebounds to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys basketball team hold on for a 69-65 win at Cheyenne on Thursday.

Marques Barnes sank two free throws with seven seconds left to give the Spartans a five-point lead and ice the game.

Deijon Spillers added 11 points and 16 rebounds for Cimarron. Barnes finished with 14 points for the Spartans, and teammate Rico Garrett scored 11.

Khalid Banks scored 17 points for Cheyenne, which rallied from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter and briefly took the lead in the fourth period.

Jaquon Coleman added 16 points for the Desert Shields, and teammate Gary Stewart scored 14.

Eldorado 69, Valley 57 — At Eldorado, DaQuan Thrower had 17 points to lead the Sundevils past the Vikings.

Julian Jacobs added 13 points, and Curtis Stewart scored 11 for Eldorado, which led 37-25 at the half.

Khristian Kirkwood led Valley with 12 points. Jordan Orphan and Angelo Coleman each added 11 points for the Vikings.

Canyon Springs 59, Chaparral 51 — At Chaparral, Michael Thompson scored five of his 17 points in the final minute to help the Pioneers secure a win over the Cowboys.

Chaparral led 51-50 with 1:04 remaining, but Canyon Springs scored the game’s final nine points.

Chris Willis led Canyon Springs with 19 points, and Trey Evans scored 11 for the Pioneers.

Zach Kirschbaum scored 16 points to lead Chaparral. Devonte’ White added 10 points for the Cowboys.

Green Valley 71, Liberty 61 — At Green Valley, Thomas Allison scored 22 points to lead the Gators past the Patriots.

Michael Thornton added 17 points, and Keiannte Wilkins had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Green Valley, which got 10 points and seven steals from Earl Thompson.

Aaron Navitsky had 21 points, and Ceferino Delossantos added 10 points for Liberty.

Foothill 57, Silverado 43 — At Foothill, Greg Cox scored 24 points to lift the Falcons past the Skyhawks.

Cox went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help Foothill pull away. Teammate Brannon Cresanto added 16 points.

Ruben Jackson led Silverado with 12 points. Michael El-Takrori and David Ware each added 11 points for Silverado.

Las Vegas 90, Rancho 52 — At Las Vegas, Phil Dunigan scored 18 points and Hasaan Henderson 15 as the Wildcats blitzed the Rams.

Juwan Major had 12 points, and O’lynsso Pratt added 10 for Las Vegas, which jumped out to a 50-23 halftime lead.

Larry Darnell led Rancho with 17 points.

Desert Pines 78, Sunrise Mountain 53 — At Desert Pines, Joshua Velarde was 7-for-11 from 3-point range to finish with 28 points and seven assists and lead the Jaguars past the Miners.

Jesse Martin added 11 points and 14 rebounds, Leon Saunders had 14 points and seven steals, and Najee McIver scored 11 for Desert PInes.

Ariel Bagget had 21 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Basic 67, Tech 44 — At Tech, the Wolves beat the Roadrunners with the help of nine 3-pointers.

Jaylen Rose scored 25 points to pace Basic, which led 22-21 at halftime.

Manny Gonzalez led Tech with 19 points, and teammate Mike Johnson added 17 points.

Coronado 63, Del Sol 35 — At Del Sol, Austin Nelson had 13 points, and the Cougars cruised past the Dragons.

Kyle Johnson added 10 points for Coronado, which led 36-16 at the half.

James Johnson and David Day each scored nine points for Del Sol.

Virgin Valley 51, Pahranagat Valley 34 — At Mesquite, Brandon Cohen scored 16 points, and the Bulldogs used a 9-0 run to start the second half by opening up a 36-17 lead and cruise past the Panthers.

Tanner Tichenor added 14 points, and Cameron Jensen scored 12 for Virgin Valley, which got 10 rebounds from Daniel Gleave.

Cody Hosier paced Pahranagat Valley with 14 points.

Spring Mountain 62, Lund 56 — At Lund, Devante Rash scored 25 points, and the Golden Eagles grabbed a 31-19 halftime lead and held off the Mustangs.

Tovalier Doss added 12 points for Spring Mountain.

Jarett Gubler poured in 34 points for Lund.
