ROUNDUP: Brewer leads late spurt as Spartan boys edge Mustangs

Erik Brewer had 24 points Wednesday to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s boys basketball team eke out a 58-56 road win over Shadow Ridge.

Arin Henderson added 15 points, and Tyler Willinsky scored 10 for the Spartans, who outscored Shadow Ridge 13-4 in the third quarter to tie the game at 39.

William Martin had 14 points, and David Everage scored 12 for the Mustangs, who used a 28-11 second-quarter spurt to take a 35-26 lead at halftime.

Findlay Prep 110, Southwest Academy (Mich.) 59 — At Henderson International, Anthony Bennett shot 9-for-13 from the floor on his way to 22 points and 10 rebounds, and the Pilots cruised to the win.

Brandon Ashley, who has signed with Arizona, had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Findlay Prep (11-0), and Nick Madray scored 14 points for the Pilots.

Winston Shepard had 12 points and 10 assists for the Pilots, who led 60-29 at halftime.

Matt Willms scored 11 points and Amedeo Della Valle 10 for Findlay Prep. UNLV commit Chris Wood supplied eight points and seven rebounds for the Pilots.

Centennial 81, Legacy 61 — At Centennial, Marcus Allen scored 26 points, and Malcolm Allen added 22 points to help the Bulldogs roll past the Longhorns.

Evan Martin had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Centennial, and Neiman Lee had five assists for the Bulldogs.

Donovon Gray had 21 points for Legacy, and teammate Zach Lane scored 11.

Bonanza 71, Sierra Vista 58 — At Sierra Vista, Ashton Howard scored 21 points to lead the Bengals by the Mountain Lions.

Marques Barnes scored 16 points for Bonanza, and Alex Arias added 14 points for the Bengals.

Sean Williams scored 20 points for Sierra Vista, and Adrian Mercado added 12 points for the Mountain Lions.

Palo Verde 67, Faith Lutheran 49 — At Faith Lutheran, Darryl Gaynor scored 16 points, and Nahjee Matlock added 14 points as the Panthers toppped the Crusaders.

Trent Gneiting supplied 11 points for Palo Verde, which led by three points with 2:30 to go in the game.

Faith Lutheran’s Sam Stevens had 12 points, Brendan Meyer scored 10 and D’Khari Hicks added 10 assists for the Crusaders.

Clark 68, Western 46 — At Western, Bryan McGriff scored 19 points to help the Chargers defeat the Warriors.

Sir Washington had 13 points, Diontae Jones scored 12 and K.C. Harrison 11 for Clark.

Nate Johnson led Western with 13 points, and teammates Aldo Arpero and Darion Murray each scored 11.

Canyon Springs 66, Rancho 45 — At Rancho, Kashion Tucker scored 14 points to help the Pioneers top the Rams.

Canyon Springs had 12 players score, and outscored Rancho 16-4 in the fourth quarter.

Ciaran Subira scored 16 points to lead the Rams.

Bishop Gorman 82, Desert Oasis 52 — At Desert Oasis, Shabazz Muhammad had 22 points, and the Gaels used a 27-4 second-quarter run to build a 49-24 halftime lead and cruise past the Diamondbacks.

Rashad Muhammad added 18 points, and Rosco Allen scored 13 for Gorman.

Anthony Lianzo led Desert Oasis with 16 points.

Cheyenne 65, Mojave 39 — At Cheyenne, Gary Stewart poured in 25 points to lead the Desert Shields past the Rattlers.

Jamal Peterson added 11 points for Cheyenne.

Jason Wallace scored 11 for Mojave.

Spring Valley 73, Pahrump Valley 40 — At Pahrump, DeShaun Nowlin tallied 18 points, and the Grizzlies built a 35-22 halftime lead and pulled away from the Trojans.

Sean Clancey and Justin Profit each added 13 points, and Shannon Nolan scored 12 for Spring Valley.

Cavasio Edwards led Pahrump with 15 points. Dalton Beighley scored 11, and Bret Kunzi had 10 points for the Trojans.

Arbor View 67, Moapa Valley 42 — At Overton, Justin Burks had 21 points to lead the Aggies past the Pirates.

Blake Claxton added 14 points, and Brandon Hill scored 12 for Arbor View, which led 36-18 at the half.

Shane Terril paced Moapa Valley with 12 points.

Boulder City 72, Mountain View 47 — At Boulder City, Austin Morgan had 13 points to help the Eagles down the Saints.

Tanner Howell and Nate Hafen each added 10 points for Boulder City.

Joseph Guevarra led Mountain View with 12 points, and Matt Larson scored 10 for the Saints.

Indian Springs 43, Word of Life 41 — At Indian Springs, Xavier Pena score 16 points and Brock Roadhouse 10 to help the Thunderbirds hold off the Eagles.

Deja Manson had 14 points, and Toufic Awada scored 13 to lead Word of Life.

Agassi Prep 57, Aussie Travelers 38 — At Agassi Prep, Kalinn Jackson had 15 points, three steals and three blocks as the Stars rolled to the win.

Anson Williams scored 10 points for Agassi Prep, and Demitrious White supplied seven points, four steals and six blocks.

Adelson School 63, Needles JV 62 — At Adelson School, Mendy Berrebi and Rob Blackwell each scored 17 points as the Lions held off the Mustangs’ junior varsity.
