ROUNDUP: Anderson, Eackles dominate halves in Las Vegas victory

Las Vegas rode Tyree Anderson’s big first half and Tony Eackles’ big second half to a 63-47 victory over Chaparral in boys basketball Saturday.

After Anderson scored 13 of his 19 points to help the Wildcats take a 31-25 halftime lead, Eackles countered by scoring 12 of his game-high 20 in the second half.

LeAndre Dunbar led the Cowboys with 11 points, and Chris Goodloe and Jerome Young had 10 each.

Liberty 57, Basic 55 — At Basic, brothers Kenneth and Cameron Peters each made two free throws in overtime to lift Liberty over the Wolves.

Kenneth Peters finished with 15 points and Cameron 10.

Nick Sangchaloay led the Wolves with 13 points. James Holmes and John Polin had 11 apiece.

Mojave 67, Cimarron-Memorial 59 — At Cimarron, Anthony Marshall supplied 12 points and 11 assists to help the Rattlers turn back the Spartans.

Kevin James had 15 points and eight rebounds for Mojave. Marques Strickland added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Prentice Marshall scored 10.

Kevin Olekaibe had 23 points for the Spartans. Dillon Brummett added 12, Andre Vickers 10.

Arbor View 76, Shadow Ridge 60 — At Arbor View, Darington Banks scored nine of his 24 points during the fourth quarter, helping the Aggies put away the Mustangs.

Brian Vignaud added 13 points, Kenny Mack 12, James Graham 11 and Maiscei Grier 10 for Arbor View, which led only 47-45 after three quarters.

Tyler Marshall topped Shadow Ridge with 14 points, and Steve Leary had 12.

Virgin Valley 58, Pahrump Valley 45 — At Pahrump Valley, Austin Cloes led a balanced attack with 12 points, and the Bulldogs scored the first 13 points of the fourth quarter to take control of the Trojans.

Terran Leavitt added 11 points for Virgin Valley, which led 38-37 entering the fourth.

Marvin Weekly led the Trojans with 21 points.

Lincoln County 73, The Meadows 46 — At Panaca, Dantley Walker and Eric Rippetoe combined for 23 points during a 30-13 first-quarter run that propelled the Lynx.

Walker finished with 25 points, Rippetoe 24 and Ivan Ortiz 12 for Lincoln County.

Max Newman scored 20 points and Garrett Gosse 14 for the Mustangs.

Needles 80, Mountain View 64 — At Mountain View, Darra Russell scored 24 points, and Needles used a 16-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters to beat the Saints.

Stevie Kidd added 20 points, Anthony Ramos 12, Michael Hills 11 and Aaron Burns 10 for the Mustangs.

Justyn Anderson paced the Saints with 21 points. Cortland LeBoeuf and Nathan Swingle each had 16, and Swingle grabbed seven rebounds.

Lake Mead 73, Trinity 46 — At Lake Mead, Landon Littlefield contributed 16 points and nine assists, and the Eagles bolted to a 41-20 halftime lead while beating Trinity.

Alex Mayorga added 13 points for Lake Mead.

Budweiser Hawkins led the Thunder with 23 points, and Avery Harden had 13.

Henderson International 55, Indian Springs 17 — At Henderson International, Clay Tormey and Danny Moerman combined to score 33 points in the first three quarters as the Wolverines rolled past the Thunderbirds.

Tormey finished with 17 points and Moerman 16. Patrick McClain led Indian Springs with seven points.

Round Mountain 55, Lund 48 — At Round Mountain, Will Sweeney racked up 25 points and 22 rebounds to carry the Knights past the Mustangs.

Clint Wilson added 11 points and J.D. Swafford 10 for Round Mountain.

Colt Kreci led Lund with 18 points. Luke Hair added 11 and Brian Kirchesh 10.

Agassi Prep 87, White Pine 77 — At Ely, DeShawn Battle had 30 points and 10 assists to lead the Stars over the Bobcats.

James Turner added 14 points and Quincy Brown 10 for Agassi Prep, which had 18 steals as a team.

White Pine's Wade Wilkinson led all scorers with 31 points. Michael Johnson added 21 points and John Holloway 17 for the Bobcats.
