Boys

Class 4A

1. Clark (0-0) — The Chargers return five starters and added transfer Greg Foster from their state runner-up team.

2. Bishop Gorman (0-0) — Jamal Bey and a host of young players will try to keep the Gaels state title streak alive.

3. Coronado (0-0) — The Cougars lost serious talent, but new faces should keep them going.

4. Foothill (1-0) — The Falcons always are tough, and Marvin Coleman will look to lead the team to state.

5. Faith Lutheran (1-0) — The Crusaders will rely heavily on their backcourt, led by point guard Jaylen Fox.

6. Canyon Springs (2-0) — The Pioneers went 21-3 last season, and look to be the class of the Northeast League.

7. Durango (0-0) — Plenty of talent returns for the Trailblazers, but the Southwest League is tough.

8. Liberty (0-0) — Sophomore Julian Strawther has a big reputation, and looks for a breakout season.

9. Sierra Vista (0-1) — The Mountain Lions will be tough once Maka Ellis gets healthy.

10. Desert Oasis (0-1) — All-state guard Jacob Heese will try to lead the Diamondbacks into the postseason.

Class 3A

1. Desert Pines (0-0) — The defending state champs move on without graduated stars Capri Uzan and Trevon Abdullah-Booker.

2. Cheyenne (1-0) — Last season’s state runner-up returns solid group, led by guard Kavon Williams.

3. Sunrise Mountain (1-0) — Steven Adeyemi will try to lead the Miners back to the playoffs.

4. Del Sol (1-1) — The Dragons will try to overcome the loss of Jonathan Spearman to graduation.

5. Chaparral (0-1) — Athletic point guard Jonathan Tendale should make the Cowboys a contender.

Class 2A

1. Democracy Prep (0-0) — Najeeb Muhammad and Akeemis Williams would be a formidable backcourt at any level.

2. The Meadows (0-0) — The Mustangs return four lettermen, led by junior guards Joe Epstein and Allen Fridman.

3. Adelson School (1-0) — The Lions must rebuild from last season’s state tournament team.

4. Lake Mead (0-0) — The Eagls return four starters, led by senior Kai Madela.

5. Mountain View (0-0) — The Saints are led by twins Tyrell and Terrence Brooks.

Class 1A

1. Pahranagat Valley (0-0) — The Panthers will build around 6-foot-9-inch senior Culen Highbe.

2. Spring Mountain (0-1) — The Golden Eagles have advanced to the state tournament in five of the last six seasons.

3. Beatty (0-0) — The Hornets advanced to the Southern League semifinals last season.

4. Round Mountain (0-0) — The Knights are looking for their first state tournament appearance since 1998.

5. Word of Life (1-0) — Jared House is back to lead the Eagles, who opened the season with a win over Class 2A Calvary Chapel.
