Gorman boys fall to No. 1 Chino Hills

Brothers Lonzo, LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball combined for 74 points Saturday to help Chino Hills (California) to a 98-81 win over Bishop Gorman's boys basketball team in the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, California.

Lonzo Ball, a UCLA signee, made five 3-pointers and had 27 points. LaMelo Ball (25 points), a junior, and LiAngelo Ball (22 points), a freshman, both have committed to UCLA as well.

The trio combined for 44 points in the first half as the Huskies (25-0), ranked No. 1 nationally by USA Today, stormed to a 58-36 lead.

Elizjah Scott added 22 points for Chino Hills, which made 11 3-pointers.

Charles O'Bannon scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half for Gorman, which trimmed the Huskies' lead to 87-76 with just more than two minutes to play.

Zach Collins added 20 points, and Christian Popoola had 14 points for the Gaels (18-7). Jamal Bey had 12 points for Gorman.
