Eldorado tops Mojave in boys basketball

Mitrell Clark scored 11 of his 34 points in the third quarter Thursday to help Eldorado’s boys basketball team pull away from visiting Mojave and post a 69-52 win.

The Sundevils trailed 32-30 at halftime but used a 23-12 third-quarter run to take a 53-42 lead.

Charles White added 11 points for Eldorado.

Anthony Marshall led Mojave with 16 points. Prentice Marshall and Brandon Birdsong each scored 12 points and Kevin James 10 for the Rattlers.

Canyon Springs 71, Spring Valley 48 — At Canyon Springs, Adrian Snow led a balanced attack with 11 points and nine rebounds to help the Pioneers down the Grizzlies.

Antonio Snow, Jeremy Alexander and Michael Thompson each added 10 points for Canyon Springs, which pulled away late, outscoring Spring Valley 24-11 in the fourth quarter.

Esteban Gonzalez led Spring Valley with 13 points, and teammate Corey Clement added 10 points.

Liberty 74, Desert Oasis 54 — At Liberty, brothers Cameron and Kenneth Peters combined for 51 of Liberty’s 74 points as the Patriots defeated the Diamondbacks.

Cameron Peters led Liberty with 26 points. Kenneth tallied 25 points.

Milos Knezevic added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Patriots, who went 11-for-17 from the free throw line.

Nick Cruz led Desert Oasis with 12 points. Cameron Jefferson and Cameron Mich’l each scored 11 points for the Diamondbacks.

Arbor View 92, Clark 70 — At Arbor View, sophomore guard Maiscei Grier scored a game-high 28 points to power the Aggies past the Chargers.

Darington Banks added 12 points and 11 assists and Pierson Heath 21 points for Arbor View.

Clark’s Rabbit Toler and Isidro Garcia each had 18 points. Steven Dancy scored 14 points for the Chargers.

Silverado 75, Faith Lutheran 52 — At Silverado, Wade Collie and Ali Sabra combined to score 59 points as the Skyhawks cruised to victory over the Crusaders.

Collie finished with 32 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sabra had 27 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Brett Lubbe led Faith Lutheran with 22 points.  

Western 74, Valley 66 — At Valley, Johnnie Diggs scored a team-high 15 points to carry the Warriors over the Vikings.

Western outscored Valley 25-8 in the third quarter to take a 60-38 lead.

Deion Harrell had 12 points, and Deandre Nash, Melvin Washington and Ehbert Talice each scored 11 for the Warriors.

Valley’s Johnquez Brooks scored a game-high 20 points. Khristian Kirkwood added 16 points for the Vikings.

Durango 54, Cherry Creek (Colo.) 38 — At Durango, Marcus Falley scored a game-high 29 points to help the Trailblazers defeat the Bruins.

Durango went on a 21-10 run in the final quarter to seal the win.

Senior forward Kris Bennett pulled down 15 rebounds for Durango.

Legacy 61, Tech 30 — At Legacy, the Longhorns jumped to a 36-13 halftime lead and rolled past the Roadrunners.

Legacy’s Ira Haywood had eight points, five assists and four steals.

Brandon Tiffany scored 14 points to lead the Roadrunners.

Bonanza 73, Shadow Ridge 67 — At Bonanza, after coming up empty on two possessions in the final minute of regulation, the Bengals downed Shadow Ridge in overtime.

Beatty 67, Horizon Academy 41 — At Beatty, Anthony Regalado scored 29 points to lead the Hornets.

Jacob Sumpter added 18 points and 14 rebounds and Joe Serrano nine assists for Beatty.

Needles 63, Grand Canyon (Ariz.) 44 — At Williams, Ariz., Needles posted a win in the first round of the Williams Tournament.

Pahranagat Valley 50, Mineral County 48 — At Hawthorne, the Panthers held on to win on the opening day of the Serpent Classic hosted by Mineral County.

Cody Hoiser scored 15 points to lead the Panthers, who rallied from a 27-17 halftime deficit.

Taylor Poulsen had 11 points and six rebounds for Pahranagat Valley.

Jeremy Roemer and Tommy Williams each grabbed 10 rebounds for the Panthers.
