BOYS BASKETBALL: Savoy scores 29, Las Vegas tops Palo Verde

Patrick Savoy drained seven 3-pointers and finished with 29 points Thursday to lead Las Vegas High’s boys basketball team to a 92-62 home win over Palo Verde.

Savoy hit four 3-pointers and had 14 points in the first quarter as the Wildcats built a 27-10 lead. He hit three more 3-pointers and had 13 points during a 32-11 third-quarter run.

Re’Kwon Smith added 19 points, and Devon Colley scored 10 points for Las Vegas.

Kyler Hack led Palo Verde with 17 points.

Centennial 73, Green Valley 69 — At Green Valley, Eddie Davis scored 18 points as the Bulldogs held off the Gators.

Aaron Turner chipped in 13 points, and Troy Brown added 12 points for Centennial, which led 50-38 after three quarters.

Troy Cropper scored 24 points, and Brandon Burke had 19 points for Green Valley, which got eight points and 12 rebounds from Tyrell Crosby.

Sierra Vista 83, Western 45 — At Western, Mikko Balmes led four double-figure scorers with 22 points as the Mountain Lions ran past the Warriors.

Nino Flores added 16 points, and Chaise Smith scored 12 for Sierra Vista, which got 11 points from Kenneth McCall.

Deaven Klepek paced Western with 13 points. Keon Lea and Wyatt Rozea each added 10 points for the Warriors.

Faith Lutheran 72, Sunrise Mountain 42 — At Sunrise Mountain, Mitch Fulfer led all scorers with 21 points as the Crusaders topped the Miners.

Conner Vang and Clayton Holthaus each had 11 points, and John Molchon scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which led 33-13 at the half.

Trellis Quinn led the Miners with 12 points, and teammate Damon Heard added 11 points.

Mountain View 72, Spring Mountain 37 — At Mountain View, Connor LeBoeuf and Trenton Van Kempen scored 12 points apiece, and the Saints used a 34-point fourth quarter to pull away from the Golden Eagles.

LeBoeuf and Van Kempen each made three 3-pointers as Mountain View drained 10 3-pointers overall. Jacob Lee and Matt Larson each had nine points for the Saints.

Ny’Zhawn Bennett led Spring Mountain with 11 points, and Devonte Richey added 10 points.

Adelson School 77, Word of Life 69 — At Adelson School, Jake Buchman scored 23 points to lead the Lions to a win over the Eagles.

Sean Perry and Rom Izkovich each added 15 points for Adelson, which got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Jake Elharar.

Word of Life’s Elijah Hoye had 29 points. Isaiah Manabat chipped in 18 points, and Edoziem Okafor scored 17 for the Eagles.
