BOYS BASKETBALL: Pioneers top Panthers in overtime

Darion Jackson led four Canyon Springs boys basketball players in double figures with 16 points as the Pioneers beat visiting Palo Verde 61-58 in overtime on Wednesday.

Derrick Legardy added 14 points, Jovan Coleman had 11 points and Marlon Tatum scored 10 for the Pioneers, who led 18-13 after one quarter before the Panthers began to chip away.

Palo Verde's Ryan Vogelei led all scorers with 17 points. Taylor Miller added 13 points for Palo Verde, and teammate Cole Hendershot scored 11.

Basic 52, Valley 45 — At Basic, Matthew Esplin had 13 points to lead the Wolves past the Vikings.

Christopher Dominguez added 12 points, and Kerry Keyes scored 11 for Basic, which led 20-9 after one quarter.

Valley's Zach Nichols had 16 points, and teammate John King scored 11.

Legacy 70, Cimarron-Memorial 65 — At Legacy, Tracy Porter and Timothy Jeffries each scored 15 points to help the Longhorns defeat the Spartans.

Chris White had 11 points, and Kameron Delgadillo added 10 points for Legacy, which trailed 31-28 at half and used a 30-16 third-quarter run to pull away.

Ja'Don Brown scored 15 points to lead Cimarron. Jeremiah Broussard (13 points), Elijah Coleman ( 12 points) and Keiron Hatchett ( 11 points) also scored in double figures for the Spartans.
