BOYS BASKETBALL: Nic Maccioni helps Faith Lutheran coach Bret Walter win 300th career game

Nic Maccioni had 26 points, and Faith Lutheran’s boys basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 77-55 home victory over Legacy on Wednesday.

It was the 300th career victory for Crusaders coach Bret Walter, who is 300-225 in his 20th season at the school.

Connor Nichols and Brevin Walter each scored 14 points for Faith Lutheran.

The Crusaders outscored Legacy 24-11 in the third quarter to extend a 37-31 halftime lead.

Chris White had 12 points, and D’Eric Marlowe added 11 points for the Longhorns.

Shadow Ridge 78, Palo Verde 76 — At Shadow Ridge, Richard Box scored his only points on a layup in the final seconds of double overtime as the Mustangs edged the Panthers.

James Fuller led all scorers with 21 points for the Mustangs. Bricin Ford added 15 points, Kaejin Smith-Bejgrowicz had 13 points, and Kevin Branch scored 12 for Shadow Ridge, which outscored the Panthers 10-8 in the second overtime.

Mitchell Olsen led Palo Verde with 14 points. Brian Sullivan had 12 points, and Daniel Bellinger and James Camp each scored 10 for the Panthers.

Green Valley 64, Basic 63 — At Green Valley, Deontae Tillman made the go-ahead layup with 1.8 seconds remaining to lift the Gators over the Wolves.

Hunter Hitchcock, who finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, stole an inbounds pass and dished it to Tillman for the decisive bucket. Basic then missed a shot at the buzzer.

Matthew Tuttle led Green Valley with 16 points, and Eric Johnson scored 12. The Gators overcame a 50-46 deficit heading into the fourth quarter.

Geoff Faries led all scorers with 20 points for Basic. Cris Dominguez added 13 points, and B.J. Wilson had 12 points and De’Shawn Eagles scored 10 for the Wolves.

Liberty 69, Silverado 59 — At Liberty, Cameron Burist led four players in double figures with 14 points as the Patriots topped the Skyhawks.

Tyrone Marigney and Logan Koch scored 11 points apiece, and Dyllan Robinson added 10 points for Liberty, which trailed 34-33 at halftime but outscored Silverado 13-4 in the third quarter.

Devin Ross tallied a game high 20 points for Silverado. Caden Farley had 15 points, and Martell Williams scored 13 for the Skyhawks.

Desert Pines 53, Western 41 — At Western, Trevon Abdullah-Booker poured in 23 points, and the Jaguars downed the Warriors.

Jalen Graves had nine points, and Capri Uzan added eight points for Desert Pines, which jumped to a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and never trailed the rest of the way. Western got as close as two points late in the third quarter.

Te’Vian Frazier led Western with 12 points, and teammate Jesus Rojo scored 11.

Centennial 83, Arbor View 53 — At Arbor View, Troy Brown scored 20 points to power the Bulldogs by the Aggies.

Alijah Henderson had 14 points, and teammate Darian Scott scored 13 for Centennial.

Jarrod Burks led Arbor View with 12 points.

Cheyenne 68, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Cheyenne, D’Andre Houston scored 14 points to lead the Desert Shields to victory over the Trojans.

Kavon Williams and Dewayne Alexander each added 13 points for Cheyenne.

Antonio Fortin scored 21 points to lead Pahrump Valley.

Lake Mead 50, Spring Mountain 38 — At Lake Mead, Ryan Kennedy scored 12 points to lead the Eagles over the Golden Eagles.

Shay Rutledge and Kaiaokumulani Madela scored 11 points apiece for Lake Mead.

Anthony Garrett led all scorers with 15 points for Spring Mountain.
