BOYS BASKETBALL: Kornieck leads Cougars past Aggies

Nick Kornieck scored 21 points Wednesday to lead Coronado’s boys basketball team to a 63-43 win at Arbor View.

Jake DesJardins added 15 points for the Cougars, who led 32-21 at halftime.

Trent Hunt led the Aggies with 22 points.

Sierra Vista 61, Sunrise Mountain 38 — At Sierra Vista, Chaise Smith scored 18 points to lead the Mountain Lions by the Miners.

Sunjay Punjabi had eight points for Sierra Vista, which led 33-14 at halftime.

Trellis Quinn had 14 points, and Damon Heard scored 11 for Sunrise Mountain.

Bishop Gorman 75, Mojave 33 — At Gorman, Stephen Zimmerman had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Chase Jeter supplied 18 points, seven rebounds and five blocks as the Gaels cruised past the Rattlers.

Richie Thornton had eight assists for Gorman.

Chrishawn Thomas scored 10 points to lead Mojave.

Del Sol 67, Western 34 — At Western, Anthony Merchant had 19 points, and Rashaun Lawson scored 17 as the Dragons topped the Warriors.

Western’s John Swayzer had 16 points.

Desert Pines 74, Tech 44 — At Tech, Coby Myles scored 18 points to lead the Jaguars by the Roadrunners.

Capri Uzan added 11 points, and Milton Wallace scored 10 for Desert Pines, which led 44-21 at the half.

Elijah Wesley had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Crawford Linden added 10 points for Tech.

Clark 73, Pahrump Valley 29 — At Pahrump, Carter Olsen led all scorers with 18 points as the Chargers rolled the Trojans.

Darius Jackson added 14 points, and Colby Jackson scored 11 for Clark, which led 38-11 at halftime.

Pahrump’s Daniel Foss had 14 points.

Laughlin 38, Beaver Dam 37 — At Laughlin, Corey Anderson poured in 26 points to lead the Cougars by the Diamondbacks.

Beaver Dam missed a potential go-ahead shot in the closing seconds but got the rebound. Laughlin’s Michael Bishop stole the ball just before the final buzzer.

Carlos Sherrill led the Diamondbacks with 19 points.
