BOYS BASKETBALL: Dunn’s free throw gives Gators win over Aggies

Myles Dunn made 1 of 2 free throws with no time left in the game Monday to lift Green Valley’s boys to a 50-49 win over visiting Arbor View.

Green Valley took a 43-31 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Aggies rallied to tie the game with 10 seconds left. Dunn was fouled while attempting a shot at the buzzer. He missed the first shot, but hit the second free throw for the win.

Xavier Jarvis led the Gators with 17 points, and teammate Romello Jones scored 11.

Trent Hunt led Arbor View with 24 points. Jesse Vogel scored 14 for the Aggies.

Canyon Springs 70, Foothill 68 — At Foothill, Channel Banks scored seven of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pioneers hold off the Falcons.

Jordan Davis also had 20 points, and D’Quan Crockett scored 16 for Canyon Springs.

Torrance Littles led Foothill with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Ryan Rapp scored 14 and Kevin Woodland 13 for Foothill, which missed a shot at the buzzer that would have tied the game.

Sunrise Mountain 56, Chaparral 54 — At Chaparral, Trellis Quinn had 20 points as the Miners beat the Cowboys.

Damon Heard added 17 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Jerome Williamson had 15 points to pace Chaparral, which used a 22-5 third quarter to tie the game at 39.

Marc Silas (11 points), Edgar Ramirez (10 points) and Richard Nelson (10 points) also scored in double figures for the Cowboys.

Desert Pines 76, Moapa Valley 49 — At Desert Pines, Trevon Abdullah had 16 points and 19 rebounds as the Jaguars downed the Pirates.

Coby Myles had 23 points, and Capri Uzan added 20 points and four assists for Desert Pines, which got 12 points from Jalen Graves.

Andrew Huerta led Moapa Valley with 18 points, and teammate Derek Cope added 12 points.

Cheyenne 57, Western 39 — At Cheyenne, Joseph Rose had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and the Desert Shields grabbed a 26-10 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Warriors.

Ulises Santillan added 14 points and nine rebounds for Cheyenne.

Wyatt Rozea had 15 points, and Kendrick Boyd scored 14 for Western, which got 10 points from Kwan Carter.

Mojave 56, Sierra Vista 48 — At Sierra Vista, Malik Abbott scored 18 points, and the Rattlers used a fourth-quarter rally to down the Mountain Lions.

Darryl Adams and Melvin Irvey each added 14 points for Mojave, which outscored Sierra Vista, 24-14 in the final quarter.

Maka Ellis led Sierra Vista with 26 points.

Centennial 71, Shadow Ridge 55 — At Centennial, Darrian Traylor led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Bulldogs topped the Mustangs.

Troy Brown and Isaiah Banks each added 13 points, and Garett Scheer scored 12 for Centennial.

Preston Echols paced Shadow Ridge with 10 points.

Del Sol 59, Boulder City 33 — At Del Sol, Noah Spearman had 15 points and 12 rebounds to help the Dragons down the Eagles.

Bo Beagle added 11 points, and Ganny Belloni scored 10 for Del Sol, which led 26-11 at the half.

Tyler Newby led Boulder City with 14 points.

Clark 71, Spring Valley 43 — At Clark, Ty’Rek Wells had 15 points to lead the Chargers by the Grizzlies.

Keyshaun Webb added 14 points, and James Bridges scored 11 for Clark.

Virgin Valley 53, Tech 45 — At Mesquite, Marcus Saunders scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs over the Roadrunners.

Crawford Linden had 15 points to lead Tech, which got 13 points from Paul Galang.

Word of Life 61, Spring Mountain 52 — At Saville Middle School, Elijah Hoye scored 18 points, and Trent McCall added 17 points to lift the Eagles by the Golden Eagles.

Jarrett Fisher scored 13 points for Word of Life.

Steve Jones led Spring Mountain with 15 points. Shakori Clark added 13 points, and Maurice Stitt scored 10 for the Golden Eagles.

Needles 55, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 39 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Trenton Poe-Evans had 20 points and 11 rebounds to help the Mustangs down the Patriots.

Victor Ochoa added 11 points and six assists for Needles, which led 23-19 at the half.

Donald Gadd led Mohave Accelerated with 13 points.

Sandy Valley 40, Indian Springs 14 — At Sandy Valley, James Rau had 14 points as the Sidewinders routed the Thunderbirds.

Logan Shelton added 11 points for Sandy Valley, which outscored Indian Springs 12-0 in the second quarter to take an 18-8 halftime lead.
