BOYS BASKETBALL: Decker, Mustangs float past Mountain Lions

Serph Decker hit a floater in the lane with one second left in overtime Wednesday to give Shadow Ridge’s boys basketball team a 73-71 win over visiting Sierra Vista.

Decker had 20 points, and Preston Echols added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs, who led 50-44 entering the fourth quarter.

Cameren Berube had 14 points, and Jordin Williams scored 12 for Shadow Ridge, which also got nine rebounds from Brett Meci.

Mikko Balmes had 20 points, and teammate Nino Flores scored 16 to lead the Mountain Lions.

Coronado 78, Eldorado 73 — At Eldorado, Austin Morgan scored 27 points to help the Cougars top the Sundevils.

Eddie Austin had 19 points, and Nick Kornieck scored 13 for Coronado, which led 41-32 at halftime and held off a late push by the Sundevils.

D’Quan Crockett had 20 points, and Darrion Daniels and Jayveon Brown each scored 19 for Eldorado.

Foothill 75, Basic 58 — At Foothill, Austin Starr made six 3-pointers and had 25 points as the Falcons downed the Wolves.

Torrance Littles added 14 points, and Matt Rapp scored 11 for Foothill.

Antraye Johnson led Basic with 16 points. Shelldan Slayton had 13 points, and Jared Meacham scored 12 for the Wolves.

Palo Verde 87, Spring Valley 55 — At Palo Verde, Graeson Vereen and Ja Morgan each scored 15 points as the Panthers topped the Grizzlies.

Billy Sparks added 12 points, and Braxton Richard scored 10 for Palo Verde, which outscored Spring Valley 24-10 in the second quarter to take a 41-29 lead.

Spring Valley’s Ryan Goecke led all scorers with 19 points.

Green Valley 39, Silverado 28 — At Green Valley, Brandon Burke had 12 points, and Tyrell Crosby supplied nine points and 13 rebounds as the Gators topped the Skyhawks.

Kris Nicholas added eight points for Green Valley.

Kris Coe had eight points for Silverado.

Liberty 71, Del Sol 52 — At Liberty, Ed O’Bannon scored 18 points and Joey Schibetta 17 to propel the Patriots to a win over the Dragons.

Noah Jefferson supplied 14 points, and Elijah Graves added 13 points for Liberty.

Brian Greer had 20 points to lead Del Sol, which got 10 points from Kyle Collins.

Valley 75, Rancho 25 — At Rancho, Spencer Mathis had 17 points, and the Vikings had a 20-0 third-quarter run in a rout of the Rams.

Cameron Burton had 16 points, and Shea Garland added 12 points for Valley, which got 10 points from Gerard Harden.

Chrys Jackson had seven points for Rancho.
