BOYS BASKETBALL: Crusaders hang on to upset Chargers

Zach Friel and Elijah Kothe each scored 15 points as Faith Lutheran’s boys basketball team upset visiting Clark 66-61 on Wednesday.

John Molchon added eight points and 14 rebounds for the Crusaders, who led by 14 in the second half.

Colby Jackson scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for Clark, which cut the lead to three with 1:30 to play.

Keyshaun Webb added 10 points for the Chargers.

Durango 68, Legacy 62 — At Legacy, Demetrius Valdez had 23 points to lead the Trailblazers by the Longhorns.

Apollo Corley added 14 points, and Chase Ruiz scored 13 for Durango, which led 43-32 after three quarters.

Brody Olenslager notched 23 points to lead Legacy. Shakir Arrey had 15 points and Jacob Rainey 12 for the Longhorns.

Sunrise Mountain 65, Moapa Valley 62 — At Overton, Damon Heard had 21 points to lead the Miners over the Pirates in overtime.

Trellis Quinn added 19 points for Sunrise Mountain, which outscored Moapa Valley 9-6 in the extra period.

The Miners took the lead with about three seconds to play in regulation. But Moapa Valley’s Dalton Gordon drove up the sideline and fed Markus Enosa in the lane for the tying bucket at the buzzer.

Jay Mortensen had 24 points to lead the Pirates, who got 15 points from Nate Cox.

Cheyenne 67, Sierra Vista 48 — At Cheyenne, Ulises Santillan had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Desert Shields by the Mountain Lions.

Joseph Rose and William Moore each scored 11 points for Cheyenne. Rose added 15 rebounds, and Bruce Gaitor scored 10 for Cheyenne, which led 34-22 at halftime.

Randal Grimes had 15 points, and teammate Maka Ellis scored 13 for Sierra Vista.

Mojave 59, Western 35 — At Western, Chrishawn Thomas scored 12 points, and the Rattlers used a 16-1 third-quarter run to top the Warriors.

Jordan Glenn added 11 points for Mojave, which led 29-22 at the half.

Zamond Washington had 12 points and 16 rebounds for Western.

Bishop Gorman 73, Shadow Ridge 39 — At Gorman, Stephen Zimmerman had 17 points and six assists as the Gaels pulled away from the Mustangs.

Chase Jeter added 11 points and eight rebounds for Gorman, which used a 21-3 second-quarter run to take a 48-15 lead at the half.

Richie Thornton had 10 assists, and Zach Collins grabbed 10 rebounds for Gorman.

Melvin Johnson paced Shadow Ridge with 15 points.

Del Sol 73, Tech 47 — At Tech, Ganny Belloni had 22 points, and the Dragons overcame an early double-figure deficit to down the Roadrunners.

Brian Greer added 17 points for Del Sol, which trailed 17-7 after one quarter before going on a 43-11 run.

Elijah Wesley had 13 points, and Julius Barnes added 10 points for Tech.

Virgin Valley 53, Boulder City 27 — At Boulder City, Zach Barnum had 18 points to power the Bulldogs by the Eagles.

Cody Burnside added 12 points for Virgin Valley, which outscored Boulder City 29-12 in the second half to pull away.

Tyler Newby led the Eagles with 10 points.

Spring Valley 72, Pahrump Valley 34 — At Pahrump, Ryan Goecke scored 14 points, and Travis Walton had 10 points as the Grizzlies routed the Trojans.

Carl Albert, Ryan Frazier and Curtis Owens each added eight points for Spring Valley.

Uriel Ramberg-Wiley scored 13 points to lead Pahrump.
