Outlook: The good news: Sunrise Mountain is coming off a playoff appearance in Class 4A last season as it prepares for Division I-A competition.
The bad news: That preparation involves an almost entirely new team.
Blanco hit .300 and had 10 RBI, and the Miners have a pair of All-Northeast League honorees back in pitchers Frankie Apodaca (two walks, 38 strikeouts), and Austin Ganigan (four walks, 41 strikeouts).
Dickson said he is hoping Andrew Baca can fill in at shortstop for Danny Guardado, who was the school's leader in nearly every offensive category.
"We are young, so we will see how our guys are able to adjust to the varsity game and see who can step up and produce, " Dickson said. "We are looking to compete with our new division."
