SMALL-SCHOOL BASEBALL: Agrawal, Meadows win Division III opener

Winning pitcher Alex Agrawal went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, two runs and three RBIs on Thursday to lead The Meadows baseball team to a 13-11 win over Needles in the opening round of the Division III Southern League tournament in Panaca.

Drake Gordon was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for The Meadows, which trailed 10-6 before scoring seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Adam Martinez was 2-for-4 with a double, and Jacob Gleason was 2-for-4 with an RBI for The Meadows (17-6), which faces Lincoln County (18-6) in the winners’ bracket final at 1 p.m. Friday.

William Dunn was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Kobee McCorkle went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for Needles (13-14), which will meet Mountain View (14-14) in an elimination game at 10 a.m. Friday.

Lincoln County 17, Mountain View 1 — At Panaca, McClain O’Connor was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three runs and two RBIs as the Lynx routed the Saints.

Preston Robbins was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Chris Florence was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Lincoln County. Mike Wood went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Lynx.

Chase Ottofy was 1-for-2 with a home run for Mountain View.

DIVISION IV

Tabor Maxwell tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead host Pahranagat Valley to a 10-0 win over Tonopah in the opening round of the Division IV Southern Region tournament.

Maxwell struck out nine, walked three and hit three batters.

Christian Higbee was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Panthers (18-2), who will face Indian Springs (13-8) in the winners’ bracket final at 1 p.m. Friday.

Tonopah (15-7) meets Round Mountain (15-2) in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Friday.

Indian Springs was a 15-2 winner over Round Mountain.
