ROUNDUP: Zebe, Bengals finish dramatic rally at Sierra Vista

Jake Zebe’s RBI single capped a two-out, two-run rally in the top of the seventh inning Thursday as Bonanza’s baseball team posted a 2-1 win at Sierra Vista.

The Bengals trailed 1-0 and were down to their final out with no one on base before Daniel Romero started the rally with his second single of the game.

Romero scored when Mike Hoyes’ fly ball to right field was lost in the sun for a two-base errror.

Austin Taft’s infield single advanced Hoyes to third before Zebe singled to right field.

Braiden Gray tossed a three-hitter for Bonanza.

Centennial 9, Legacy 8 — At Centennial, Stephen Reilly got a bases-loaded strikeout against the only batter he faced to preserve the Bulldogs’ victory over the Longhorns.

Centennial took a 9-4 lead into the seventh, but Legacy scored four runs and loaded the bases with two outs. Reilly fanned Devon Bigby to end the threat and the game.

Winning pitcher Casey Moses was 3-for-4 with a double and a run, and Michael Rosenkrantz went 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Centennial, which got a fifth-inning grand slam from Ian Ogurek.

Kyle Peeler was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Avery Brandon was 2-for-3 for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 3, Palo Verde 2 — At Faith Lutheran, J.B. Eary’s two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning capped a three-run rally and helped the Crusaders nip the Panthers.

Erich Uelmen and Josh Murtha combined on a six-hitter for Faith Lutheran.

Bishop Gorman 8, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Joey Gallo went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI as the Gaels blanked the Diamondbacks.

Cody Roper pitched five scoreless innings and fanned seven for the Gaels.

Cheyenne 9, Mojave 6 — At Cheyenne, Jerraco Lindsey went 3-for-3 to help the Desert Shields top the Rattlers.

Lamar Harvey added a solo home run, and Nick Goretz was 2-for-3 for Cheyenne.

Western 16, Clark 0 — At Western, Anthony Chojnacki pitched a five-inning, one-hit shutout and went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs as the Warriors routed the Chargers.

Jesus Serrano was 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs, and Josh Yocum went 2-for-3 with a triple and a double for Western, which got two doubles from Osvaldo Escobar.

Spring Valley 17, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Cody Foremaster went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and the Grizzlies scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning of a five-inning rout of the Trojans.

Robby Brewster went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs, and Michael Macove, Drew LaComb, Dylan Drachler and Jose Rosales-Rodarte added two hits apiece for Spring Valley.

Rosales-Rodarte and Daniel Endsley combined on a one-hitter and faced the minimum 15 batters.

Las Vegas 10, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Las Vegas High, J.D. Garcia tossed a six-inning three-hitter and struck out six as the Wildcats downed the Miners.

Daniel Ouzts was 3-for-4 with a double for Las Vegas. Jose Sanchez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Dillon Dove tripled and drove in two runs for the Wildcats.
