ROUNDUP: Three-run fourth gives Grizzlies win

Spring Valley scored three runs in the top of the fourth and held on for a 3-2 win at Bonanza on Friday.

Eddie Gomez’s RBI single capped the inning, which also saw the Grizzlies score a run on a balk and another on a sacrifice bunt by Jacob Schwartz.

Dylan Drachler went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Spring Valley.

Anthony Novak and Drew LaComb combined on a six-hitter for the Grizzlies. LaComb threw 2 1/3 hitless innings of relief to get the save.

Joe Merino scored both runs for Bonanza.

Chaparral 6, Valley 5 — At Valley, Garrett Munoz chopped a two-run single up the middle with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Cowboys rally past the Vikings.

Marcus Mejia went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Valley, which took a 5-3 lead into the final inning.

Foothill 5, Del Sol 3 — At Foothill, Gabby Soto hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to help the Falcons top the Dragons.

After his homer gave Foothill the lead, Soto came on to pitch two scoreless innings with five strikeouts to earn the save.

Dakoda Wadkins was 2-for-2 for the Falcons.

Green Valley 10, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Alec Hutt hit two home runs and threw a two-hitter to help the Gators cruise to the five-inning win.

Hutt drove in five runs, and supplied three strikeouts on the mound.

Phillip McGovern was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Chad Whiteaker went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley.

Rancho 23, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Brandon Pletsch and P.J. Matha combined on a no-hitter as the Rams routed the Pioneers in five innings.

Pletsch struck out seven in three innings, and Matha had four strikeouts in two innings of work.

Zak Qualls went 5-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs, and Kevin Kline was 4-for-5

Austin Blake was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for the Rams.

Bishop Gorman 8, Durango 2 — At Durango, Kenny Meimerstorf was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a homer and five RBIs to lead the Gaels.

Cody Roper went the distance, allowing no earned runs on five hits to get the win. He struck out seven and hit a solo home run.

T.J. White added two hits for the Gaels.

Coronado 21, Basic 11 — At Coronado, Chris Blake went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to help the Cougars beat the Wolves in five innings.

Ryan Donahue was 3-for-3 with three RBIs to help Coronado, which finished with 17 hits. Steven Pollex and Taylor Giordano each added a homer for the Cougars.

Kyle Silva and Andrew Chaves each went 3-for-4 for Basic, which took an early 9-4 lead.

Sierra Vista 10, Western 0 — At Sierra Vista, Alex Estrella pitched a five-inning one-hitter with seven strikeouts and four walks to lead the Mountain Lions past the Warriors.

Estrella added two doubles, Jake Hager hit a three-run home run, and Blair Goldsack added a two-run shot for Sierra Vista. Jake Findlay and Scott Tomassetti had solo homers for the Mountain Lions.

Eldorado 12, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Chris Brown went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double to lift the Sundevils past the Jaguars in six innings.

P.J. Swain went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to help Eldorado, and teammate Lucio Arreola was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Camilo Murillo went 2-for-3 to lead Desert Pines.

Legacy 10, Rock Canyon (Colo.) 4 — At Legacy, Josh Torres went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs to help the Longhorns to the victory.

Jayson Henderson was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run for Legacy, which had 12 hits.

Pierce Skinner went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Longhorns.

Desert Oasis 24, Highland (Calif.) 17 — At Desert Oasis, Mike Maiello went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBIs as the Diamondbacks topped the Bulldogs.

Jossaiah Raval went 3-for-3 with four runs for Desert Oasis, which scored 17 runs in the last three innings.

Andrew Jones went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs for Highland.

Las Vegas 15, Salem Hills (Utah) 2 — At St. George, Utah, Justin Cheney and Xavier Palmer each had a home run and five RBIs to lead the Wildcats past the Skyhawks in the Little Caesar’s Invitational.

Cheney was 2-for-2 with a run scored, and Palmer was 2-for-3 with three runs. Tanner Chauncey went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and two RBIs for the Wildcats.

Snow Canyon (Utah) 5, Las Vegas 1 — At St. George, Erick Fedde allowed just five hits and struck out 10, but Snow Canyon managed to plate five runs to top the Wildcats.

Chauncey was 2-for-3 for Las Vegas.

Virgin Valley 8-8, Moapa Valley 2-2 — At Mesquite, Cameron Jensen totaled four hits, including a two-run home run in the nightcap, to lead the Bulldogs to a sweep of the Pirates.

Virgin Valley’s Tanner Tichenor threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts in the first game, and Tanner Kilmer had two hits.

In the second game, Virgin Valley’s Brandt Eaton hit a solo homer, and Tichenor and Matt Devore each had two hits.

The Meadows 13-10, Lincoln County 6-0 — At The Meadows, Anthony Gord totaled seven hits to lead the Mustangs to a sweep of the Lynx.

The Meadows’ Justin Diamond earned a complete-game win in the opener, scattering six hits and striking out nine.

Teammate Garrett Gosse threw a five-inning three-hitter with nine strikeouts in the second game.

Laughlin 6-12, Mountain View 3-8 — At Laughlin, Andre Prosise threw a three-hitter in the first game and doubled and tripled in the second to lead the Cougars to the sweep.

Needles 24-17, Calvary Chapel 1-1 — At Needles, Mason Cisneros went a combined 5-for-8 with five RBIs to lead the Mustangs to a sweep of the Lions.

Matt McAndrews and Austin Baldwin each added five hits and three RBIs for Needles.

Aaron Hetrick blasted a two-run homer in the second game for the Mustangs.

Beatty 13-17, Trinity 3-5 — At Beatty, Jacob Zamora went a combined 4-for-6 with five runs to lead the Hornets to a sweep of the Thunder.

Isaias Flores was 3-for-5 with five runs and three RBIs for Beatty, and Ivan Maldonado drove in four runs on the day.
