ROUNDUP: Mojave tops Desert Pines for first baseball win since 2006

Francisco Colin was 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and four RBIs to lead Mojave’s baseball team to a 14-4 home victory over Desert Pines on Thursday.

It was Mojave’s first baseball victory since 2006.

Robert Jameson was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for the Rattlers.

Foothill 7, Eldorado 6 — At Foothill, Jordan Mathis’ RBI single in the seventh inning scored Jake Ferdinand with the go-ahead run as the Falcons edged the Sundevils.

Mathis finished 2-for-4 with a double.

Dylan Ellis scored the tying run for Foothill on a sacrifice bunt. Daniel LeCavalier hit a triple for Eldorado.

Valley 6, Cheyenne 3 — At Cheyenne, Mark Taylor went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and an RBI to help the Vikings top the Desert Shields.

Jesse Acosta was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Valley. Thomas Paco was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Vikings.

Marquise Hall was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Cheyenne.

Liberty 8, Desert Oasis 5 — At Liberty, Robert Kinan’s double plated Manny Menocal and Anthony Rush with the tying and go-ahead runs in the sixth inning as the Patriots squandered a 4-0 lead and then rallied from a 5-4 deficit to beat the Diamondbacks.

Dylan Rogers added a triple and two RBIs for the Patriots.

Basic 4, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, the Wolves scored four runs in the first inning and held on for the win.

Andrew Chaves hit a two-run double to key the inning. Cody Brady got the win, allowing one run and striking out four in 5 2/3 innings.

Ricky Perez went 2-for-3 and pitched a complete game for Chaparral.

Cimarron-Memorial 14, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Kody Gorden was 3-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs to lead the Spartans to a five-inning rout of the Dragons.

Dyllon Nuernberg drew four walks for Cimarron, which scored five runs in the fifth.

David Day doubled for Del Sol.

Sierra Vista 14, Silverado 3 — At Sierra Vista, Kyle Gamble’s grand slam with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning helped the Mountain Lions run-rule the Skyhawks.

Gamble finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Brooks Klein was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Mountain Lions starter Jake Hager pitched all six innings. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out two.

Braden Keathley had a home run and a double for Silverado.

Western 11, Canyon Springs 1 — At Western, Courtney Woods pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run to lead the Warriors over the Pioneers in six innings.

Dylan Williams went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Daniel Buzzard was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI for Western.

Spring Valley 11, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Spring Valley, Ryan Hendershot struck out seven over six innings and finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run to lead the Grizzlies over the Mustangs.

Enzo Bello went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and Jackson Morrow went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs for Spring Valley. 

Arbor View 16, Clark 1 — At Arbor View, Jacob Badger homered and Michael Fulks, Zach Quintana and Clinton Jones combined on a two-hitter as the Aggies downed the Chargers in five innings.

Rancho 7, Bonanza 1 — At Rancho, Eric Holdren struck out 13 batters, including five of the last six, as the Rams beat the Bengals.

Rancho’s Brandon Pletsch was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs. Zak Qualls and Scott Koenen added doubles for the Rams.

Bishop Gorman 12, Corona Del Oro (Ariz.) 8 — At Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeff Malm went 4-for-4 with a double and a pair of home runs — including a game-tying two-run shot that keyed a six-run sixth inning as the Gaels won their final game of the Big League Dugout Invitational.

Malm had three RBIs and scored three runs.

Johnny Field followed Malm’s second homer with a round-tripper to give the Gaels the lead for good. Joey Gallo also hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Vancouver (Canada) 8, Coronado 5 — At Coronado, the visitors plated five runs in the top of the seventh to down the Cougars.

Curtis Davis hit a two-out single to score the go-ahead run. Vancouver had four hits in the inning, all with two outs.

Cody Giordano was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and teammate Joe Desjardins was 2-for-3 with two runs for Coronado.

Lake Mead 12, Virginia City 3 — At Mountain View, the Eagles took advantage of two walks three errors and a hit batter in a seven-run fourth inning to win in the Mountain View Spring Slam.

Josh Bratton and Matthew Elizado had RBI doubles in the inning. Bratton doubled twice in the game.

Battle Mountain 10, Mountain View 0 — At Mountain View, Jaime Hernandez had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Longhorns past the Saints in the Spring Slam.
