Roundup: Matthew Cox powers Bonanza over Sierra Vista

Matthew Cox was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs Tuesday as Bonanza’s baseball team edged visiting Sierra Vista, 7-6.

Orbien Hernandez-Silva supplied two runs and two RBIs for Bonanza, which got the win on the mound from Nick DeSoto.

Cooper Kitrel went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and teammate Keanu Kinney-Jorge had two hits and an RBI to lead Sierra Vista.

Basic 2, Green Valley 1 — At Basic, Dominik Tavares and Kyle Cazett had RBIs in the fourth inning to help the Wolves hold off the Gators.

John Howard Bobo went 2-for-3 for Basic, and C.J. Dornak picked up the win.

Carter Gehlken was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley.

Virgin Valley 11, Mojave 9 — At Mojave, Jayden Perkins had three RBIs and two runs to help the Bulldogs rally and beat the Rattlers.

Easton Jensen tripled for the Bulldogs, who scored three in the sixth to take the lead. Virgin Valley’s Kaden Peterson and Logan Felix each had two RBIs.

Mike Cianci was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Rattlers.

Coronado 9, Silverado 3 — At Silverado, Jake McLean was 2-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs to help the Cougars dismantle the Skyhawks.

Ryan Murphy homered for Coronado and won the game as the starting pitcher.

Brant Hunt was 2-for-4 for Silverado.

Del Sol 4, Western 2 — At Western, David Prosky tossed a complete game with six strikeouts to earn the win and help lift the Dragons over the Warriors.

Javier Marti supplied two hits and an RBI for Del Sol.

Tyler Matthews contributed two hits and an RBI, and teammate Xavier Thomas had a triple to pace Western.

Boulder City 11, Pahrump Valley 11 — At Pahrump, the Eagles and Trojans played to an 11-11 tie, called after eight innings due to darkness.

Rhett Armstrong had three hits to lead Boulder City, which got two hits apiece from Shaun Jones and Troy Connell.

Chase McDaniel led Pahrump Valley with three hits, and teammates Cyle Havel and Garrett Lucas each had two hits for the Trojans.

Cimarron-Memorial 10, Shadow Ridge 0 — Seth Hoffman had a home run, double, three RBIs and pitched four shutout innings to lead the Spartans over the Mustangs in five innings.

Elie Kligman doubled for the Spartans, and Zach Culver had two runs and two RBIs.

Andrue Sanchez was 2-for-2 for Shadow Ridge.

Desert Oasis 16, Clark 6 — At Desert Oasis, Chaison Miklich earned the win and was 3-for-3 at the plate as the Diamondbacks routed the Chargers in six innings.

Izzy Gutierrez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and teammate Aaron Roberts added three hits for Desert Oasis, which scored nine runs in the first. Cole Schaefer supplied four RBIs for the Diamondbacks.

Dylan King had a two-run double to pace Clark.

Spring Valley 14, Durango 0 — At Spring Valley, Braxton Bruschke tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs, powering the Grizzlies to a five-inning win over the Trailblazers.

Chase Rodriguez went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBIs, and Jonathan Bakken was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and an RBI for Spring Valley.

Donovan Souder supplied two doubles and Kade Higgins and Mitchell Otis each hit a double for the Grizzlies.

Chaparral 12, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Christian Calzada threw 6⅔ innings with eight strikeouts and allowed one unearned run to lift the Cowboys over the Miners.

James Cobian scored four times and knocked in three for the Cowboys, and Rodney Elosegui and Alfredo Ramirez each doubled.

Angelo DeLeon had a double for the Miners.

Moapa Valley 10, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Hunter Wrzesinski went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and winning pitcher Luke Bennett tossed three-hit ball with seven strikeouts as the Pirates shut out the Desert Shields in five innings.

Coby Longman was 3-for-3 with double for Moapa Valley, which led 6-0 after two innings.

Guillermo Rodriguez went 2-for-2 for Cheyenne.

The Meadows 21, Mountain View 3 — At Mountain View, Sam Kaplan had two doubles, three RBIs and four runs as the Mustangs pounded the Saints.

Brian Capp and Brandon Medina each doubled for the Mustangs.

Hugo Fajardo had two doubles for the Saints.
