ROUNDUP: Malm pitches Gorman to 22nd straight win, Easter Classic crown

Jeff Malm tossed a three-hit shutout Saturday at Hadland Park as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team captured its own Easter Classic with a 4-0 victory over Newbury Park (Calif.).
Malm allowed three singles and walked two. He struck out 10 and drove in the first run of the game with a third-inning double.
Neil Lawhorn added a two-run double in the third inning as Gorman took a 3-0 lead.
Erik Van Meetren’s fifth-inning triple plated Johnny Field to up the lead to 4-0.
Lawhorn, Van Meetren and Joey Rickard each had two hits for the Gaels, who have won 22 in a row since a 1-3 start. Gorman allowed only four runs in its five tournament games.
Centennial 11, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Centennial, Anthony Consiglio tossed a five-inning three-hitter with five strikeouts to lead the Bulldogs past the Crusaders.
Cody Clark was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs for Centennial. Matt Triana was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and teammate Justin Gault went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Silverado 12, Palo Verde 1 — At Palo Verde, Drew Robinson went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs to lead the Skyhawks to a rout of the Panthers.
Tanner Dushane was 3-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI for Silverado, which scored five runs in the first inning and led 11-0 after three innings.
Brandon Laubhan was 2-for-2 with a double for Palo Verde.
 
Legacy 5, Durango 2 — At Durango, Austin Christiansen went 2-for-4 with a triple, and Adam Thompson was 2-for-2 with two RBIs to help Legacy down the Trailblazers.
 
Zack Monticelli and James Allan combined on a six-hitter for the Longhorns.
 
Zack Hollenback had a home run for Durango.
