ROUNDUP: Hold, late rally spark Mustangs to win over Spartans

Winning pitcher Logan Hold was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Shadow Ridge’s baseball team rallied for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to an 8-3 home win over Cimarron-Memorial on Monday.

Danny Turnbull went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Mustangs.

Five of Shadow Ridge’s seven hits were doubles.

Centennial 15, Legacy 11 — At Centennial, Chapman Schmidt went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs and two RBIs as the Bulldogs came from behind to defeat the Longhorns.

Centennial trailed 10-5 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, but the Bulldogs scored 10 runs on eight hits in the frame, which was capped by a home run by Bruce Lewallen.

Ryan Calsada went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs for Legacy.

Bonanza 4, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Bonanza, Jake Zebe scored on Alec Taft’s two-out single before Daniel Romero came home on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Bengals to a win over the Trojans.

Romero was 3-for-4 with two runs for Bonanza, and Taft and Joe Merino each had two hits.

Cheyenne 9, Mojave 5 — At Cheyenne, Nik Goetz went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs to lead the Desert Shields past the Rattlers.

Andrew Graham was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Cheyenne.

Eric Mora was 3-for-4 with a double for Mojave.

Sierra Vista 10, Durango 0 — At Durango, Blair Goldsack was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to help the Mountain Lions to the five-inning win.

Dusty Stevens threw a one-hitter with two strikeouts to get the victory.

Jake Hager went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Jake Findlay was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Faith Lutheran 10, Palo Verde 2 — At Faith Lutheran, Blake Matthias went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs as the Crusaders topped the Panthers.

Caleb Summerhays was 2-for-3 with a solo home run for Faith Lutheran, which had 12 hits.

Desert Oasis 16, Western 0 — At Desert Oasis, Jordan Compehos went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs to help the Diamondbacks to the five-inning win.

Cody Schmidt was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs for Desert Oasis. Zane Killebrew threw a five-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks to earn the win.

Spring Valley 21, Clark 3 — At Clark, Jose Rosales-Rodarte went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs to help the Grizzlies top the Chargers in five innings.

Rosales-Rodarte also struck out 10 in four innings to pick up the win.

Robbie Brewster was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and four RBIs to help Spring Valley. Dylan

Drachler added two triples, three runs and four RBIs, and Tyler Karlter doubled twice, scored twice and drove in four.

Virgin Valley 9, Hurricane (Utah) 3 — At Virgin Valley, Tanner Tichenor went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Bulldogs as they took down the Tigers.

Daniel Gleave added a homer for Virgin Valley.

Galena 11, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Jace Puckett threw a four-hitter with six strikeouts to lead the Grizzlies to the five-inning win.

Jeremy Rosenthal was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Galena.
