Roundup: Garrett Lucas’ perfect game leads Pahrump to five-inning win

Garrett Lucas threw a five-inning perfect game Tuesday to lead Pahrump Valley’s baseball team to a 10-0 home win over Del Sol.

Chase McDaniel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Pahrump. Willie Lucas and Dylan Grossell each supplied an RBI double for the Trojans.

Durango 6, Sierra Vista 4 — At Sierra Vista, Duke Pahukoa was 3-for-4, including a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning, as the Trailblazers defeated the Mountain Lions.

Justin Lucas went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and teammate Jason Salazar supplied two hits and an RBI for Durango, which got a solo homer in the seventh from Irvin Weems. Renae Lara had two hits and two runs for the Trailblazers.

Cody Culpepper led Sierra Vista with two hits and two RBIs.

Desert Pines 5, Boulder City 2 — At Desert Pines, James Greco was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run as the Jaguars beat the Eagles.

Salvador Becerra threw allowed a run on five hits with seven strikeouts in four innings of relief to get the win. He also went 2-for-4.

Juan Castaneda went 1-for-1 with a double, a run, an RBI and two walks for the Jaguars.

Desert Oasis 14, Bonanza 2 — At Desert Oasis, Cole Schaefer went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Aaron Roberts smacked a two-run homer to help the Diamondbacks rout the Bengals in five innings.

Zac Czerniawski had two hits and three RBIs, and Izzy Gutierrez supplied two hits and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Winning pitcher Josh Sharman tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Diamondbacks.

Keanu Atienza-Sabagala went 2-for-2 for Bonanza.

Shadow Ridge 15, Legacy 8 — At Legacy, Tyler Black was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs as the Mustangs topped the Longhorns.

Brennen Lyman was 2-for-3 with a double and four runs, and Trent McGregor went 2-for-4 with three runs for Shadow Ridge, which won despite committing seven errors.

Jax Holzem went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Mustangs, and teammate Andrue Sanchez was 2-for-4 with two runs.

Jordan Crawford went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Legacy.

Tech 8, Western 0 — At Western, Gabe Kermode fired a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Roadrunners rolled by the Warriors.

Andre Nevarez doubled twice and drove in four runs for Tech, which got two hits apiece from Jose Leon and Adrian Perez.

Mark Gastelum doubled for Western.

Foothill 13, Green Valley 3 — At Foothill, winning pitcher Andrew Hauck went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run to help the Falcons to the six-inning win over the Gators.

Hauck went the distance on the mound, allowing five hits and striking out seven.

Tyler Kara was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and and RBI, and Kelton Lachelt went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Foothill.

Jake Perales added two runs and two RBIs for the Falcons.

Garrett Nelson was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Centennial 11, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Kris Bow went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs to lead the Bulldogs to the five-inning win over the Crusaders.

Zachary Hare was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and three RBIs for Centennial, which broke a scoreless tie with an eight-run third inning.

Zack Simon went the distance, allowing four hits and striking out three, to get the win.

Jeremy Aguirre went 2-for-2 with a run for Centennial.

Las Vegas 14, Eldorado 0 — At Las Vegas, Joel Lindahl was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, and Martin Simmons drove in a pair of runs to help the Wildcats blank the Sundevils in five innings.

Nathan Freimuth, Payton Miller and Trevor Johnson each added a double for Las Vegas.

Brandon Culmo threw four shutout innings to get the win.

Palo Verde 15, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Tyler Kim went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Peyton Cole hit a two-run homer as the Panthers defeated the Spartans in five innings.

John Condron went 2-for-2 with a double and and RBI, and Jacob Godman supplied a double and an RBI for Palo Verde.

Winning pitcher Bryce Robinson fired a two-hitter with four strikeouts for the Panthers.

Seth Hoffman had a sacrifice fly in the fourth for Cimarron’s only run.

Bishop Gorman 16, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Parker Aquino threw a two-hitter and the Gaels scored 11 runs in the fourth inning en route to the five-inning win.

Christian Lamar and Thomas Dilandri each had a home run and three RBIs for Gorman. Austin Wells went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs, and Tyler Curtis was 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs and an RBI for Gorman.

Dutch Landis, Ryan Sepede and Connor O’Shea each added two hits for Gorman.

Moapa Valley 16, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Chase Hadley threw a one-hitter and supplied two hits and an RBI as the Pirates blasted the Miners in three innings.

Chase Guessman finished 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs for Moapa Valley, which got two hits and three RBIs from Gannon Hymas.

Eddie Casado had Sunrise Mountain’s lone single.

Virgin Valley 21, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Jayden Perkins was 4-for-5 a triple, two runs and three RBIs to help the Bulldogs rout the Desert Shields in four innings.

Easton Jensen was 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and Booker Wakefield was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for Virgin Valley.

Dakota Munford drove in three runs for Virgin Valley.

Chaparral 15, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Robert O’Connor went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and six RBIs and the Cowboys scored 11 runs in the seventh inning to blow out the Rattlers.

Rodney Elosegui had a double and scored three times for the Cowboys, and Antonio Vara had two runs and two RBIs.

Chaparral’s James Cobian struck out six in four shutout innings to get the win.

Mountain View 12-18, Democracy Prep 3-5 — At Doolittle Park, Rason McClennan was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI as the Saints rolled to a four-inning victory in the nightcap to sweep the Blue Knights.

Julien Prieto was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Hugo Fajardo went 1-for-2 with a double and three runs for the Saints.

In the opener, Fajardo threw a one-hitter and struck out eight in the three-inning win.

He also went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs. McClennan was 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI for the Saints.

Liberty Baptist 19, Spring Mountain 0 — At Rainbow Family Park, Trevor Campbell and Bryan Smith combined on a three-inning no-hitter as Liberty Baptist rolled.

Campbell was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs, and teammate Caleb Shorer went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for Liberty Baptist.
