ROUNDUP: Drachler, Brewster team up to help Grizzlies nip Trailblazers

Dylan Drachler threw six shutout innings Wednesday to lead Spring Valley’s baseball team to a 2-0 home victory over Durango.

Drachler allowed two hits, walked three and struck out seven. Robbie Brewster threw a scoreless seventh to get the save.

Spring Valley broke through against Durango pitcher Will Morris in the fourth when Drachler singled, stole second and scored on a single by Brewster.

The Grizzlies added a run in the sixth when Drew LaComb singled, went to second on a single by Drachler and scored on an RBI single by Tyler Kartler.

LaComb was 2-for-2 and Drachler went 2-for-3 for Spring Valley.

Morris went the distance, allowing six hits and striking out four.

Centennial 9, Cimarron-Memorial 7 — At Cimarron, Austin Nelson drove in five runs, including a sixth-inning grand slam, to power the Bulldogs past the Spartans.

Ian Ogurek went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Centennial, which led 9-1 before allowing six runs in the bottom of the sxith.

A.J. Hernandez was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run for Cimarron.

Shadow Ridge 10, Palo Verde 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Troy Williams went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Michael Wager was 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Mustangs past the Panthers.

Bruce Butler and Brandon Show each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mustangs, who scored three runs in each of the first two innings.

Jared Webb was 2-for-3 with a pair of triples for Palo Verde.

Desert Oasis 11, Clark 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kyle Motis went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Cody Schmidt was 3-for-4 with three runs scored as the Diamondbacks routed the Chargers in five innings.

Riley Smith threw a three-hitter with five strikeouts to earn a win for Desert Oasis.

Greg McKinney had two hits and a stolen base for Clark.

Sierra Vista 12, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Tyler Condie faced the minimum 15 batters to help the Mountain Lions top the Trojans.

Condie had four strikeouts while allowing two hits and a hit batter, but Sierra Vista turned three double plays.

Conner Klein was 1-for-1 with a three-run triple and two sacrifice flies to lead the offense. Robert Lee added two hits and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Faith Lutheran 12, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, David Edson was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Crusaders to the five-inning win.

Brendan Meyer went the distance, allowing an unearned run on one hit, to get the win.

Mojave’s Francisco Colin had an RBI double in the bottom of the first.

Arbor View 25, Cheyenne 5 — At Cheyenne, Pedro Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple and six RBIs, and Jason Hicks was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs as the Aggies cruised to a five-inning win over the Desert Shields.

Zach Quintana was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Evan McMahan finished 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Arbor View, which scored 15 runs in the second inning.

Boulder City 18, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Sunrise Mountain, Nate Hafen was 2-for-4 with eight RBIs to help the Eagles to the six-inning win over the Miners.

Hafen had a three-run triple and a grand slam as the Eagles scored 18 runs on only six hits.

Virgin Valley 11, Chaparral 1 — At Virgin Valley, the Bulldogs scored four runs in the second inning on their way to a five-inning win over the Cowboys.

Brandt Eaton hit a home run in the second inning and a double in the fourth for Virgin Valley. Tanner Tichenor added a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Cameron Jensen threw a two-hitter to get the win.

Bishop Gorman 11, Brighton (Colo.) 0 — At Phoenix, Cody Roper threw a one-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Gaels to the five-inning win at the Big League Dugout Invitational.

T.J. White was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBIs, and Johnny Sewald went 3-for-4 with three runs for Gorman.
