ROUNDUP: Colin pitches Mojave to first win since 2009

Francisco Colin tossed a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead Mojave’s baseball team to a 5-3 home win over Sunrise Mountain on Friday.

The victory was the first for the Rattlers since 2009.

Eric Mora and Carlos Romo each doubled twice and drove in a run for Mojave. Anthony Walker was 2-for-4 and scored two runs for the Rattlers.

Sunrise Mountain’s Michael Estrada went 2-for-4.

Sierra Vista 3, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Billy Santiwan scored on a throwing error in the top of the ninth inning for the go-ahead run, and the Mountain Lions held on to beat the Bulldogs in the Lion Kickoff.

Jake Hager threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed one hit and struck out four.

Centennial’s Casey Moses recorded six strikeouts in seven innings.

Sierra Vista 12, Coronado 3 — At Centennial, Alex Estrella struck out 10 while allowing four hits in five innings to lead the Lions past the Cougars in the Lion Kickoff.

Scott Tomassetti went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple to help Sierra Vista, which sealed the win with a seven-run fourth inning. Teammate Conner Klein was 2-for-3 with a double.

Rancho 8, Legacy 6 — At Rancho, Brandon Pletsch hit 2-for-2 with a triple and a go-ahead RBI double in the fourth to lead the Rams past the Longhorns in five innings at the Lion Kickoff.

Michael Cruz went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer to help Rancho, which rallied from a 5-0 deficit after two innings.

Pierce Skinner had a triple for Legacy.

Coronado 10, Centennial 6 — At Centennial, Taylor Giordano, Cody Howard and Chris Johnson each homered in the sixth inning to help the Cougars rally past the Bulldogs in six innings at the Lion Kickoff.

Dylan Fahr was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple to help Coronado, which trailed  6-4 heading into the sixth.

Centennial scored six runs while managing only one hit.

Green Valley 16, Legacy 6 — At Faith Lutheran, Evan Van Hoosier homered and Cody Milner had three hits as the Gators downed the Longhorns in the Lion Kickoff.

Green Valley 13, Faith Lutheran 6 — At Faith Lutheran, Brett Harrison hit a three-run homer and Zach Vergiels added three hits as the Gators beat the Crusaders in the Lion Kickoff.

Van Hoosier added two hits for Green Valley.

Silverado 12, Shadow Ridge 7 — At Shadow Ridge, Trevor Johnson had two doubles and two RBIs, and the Skyhawks used a six-run first inning to pull away from the Mustangs.

Nick Kawano went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Dylan Cross added a double and a triple for Silverado. Wyatt Reid and Mark Janosik each supplied a double for the Skyhawks.

Troy Williams homered and doubled, and Joey Luizza was 3-for-4 with two runs for Shadow Ridge.

Arbor View 17, Bonanza 13 — At Arbor View, Tyler LeBaron pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win and went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Aggies top the Bengals.

Cameron Mormon was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Arbor View, which dropped to deficits of 9-0 and 13-4 before rallying.

Cody Lacy was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for the Aggies.

Sean DeSoto was 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Bengals.

Clark 15, Chaparral 5 — At Clark, Jordan Ivy tossed a complete game to earn the win and was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and four RBIs as the Chargers routed the Cowboys in six innings.

Mike Quiroz was 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, and Greg McKinney added two stolen bases and three hits, including the game-ending single that scored Justin Almazan.

Isaac Velasquez supplied two doubles and two RBIs for the Chargers.

Bryan Newman had two hits for Chaparral.

Liberty 12, Canyon View (Utah) 4 — At Liberty, Michael Vargas went 3-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs to help the Patriots to the win.

Teddy Efthemeou was 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI, and Marcos Rivera hit a two-run homer for Liberty.

Lehi (Utah) 5, Foothill 4 — At St. George, Utah, the Pioneers plated two runs in the top of the sixth to claim the victory in the Little Caesar’s Classic.

Kevin Beck was 2-for-3 for Foothill.

Foothill 20, Herriman (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Gabby Soto went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Dakota Wadkins was 2-for-2 with a triple and three runs as the Falcons blew out Herriman.

Janson Neff was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Foothill, which scored 10 runs in the fifth inning.

Cimarron-Memorial 20, Syracuse (Utah) 0 — At St. George, Cody Clark went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs as the Spartans routed the Titans in the Little Caesar’s Classic.

Travis Hendry was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Effe Garcia, A.J. Hernandez and Ricky Dorantes each went 2-for-2 for Cimarron, which had 20 hits.

Mountain View 16, Greyhills Academy (Ariz.) 3 — At Needles, Trevor Van Kempen went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored two runs, and recorded seven strikeouts in three innings to help the Saints rout the Knights in the Route 66 Tournament.

Korey Wood doubled twice and scored three runs for Mountain View.

Monument Valley (Ariz.) 7, Mountain View 6 — At Needles, Matt Hale was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Mustangs the win over the Saints.

Mountain View’s Logan Christie was 2-for-3 with a double and triple, and Van Kempen went 2-for-2 with two doubles.
