ROUNDUP: Bonnell, Portaro each drive in three as Bulldogs down Wildcats

Bryan Bonnell went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Christian Portaro was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs as Centennial’s baseball team defeated visiting Las Vegas High, 15-5 in five innings Friday.

Mike Yenkowski went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for the Bulldogs, who broke a 5-5 tie by scoring eight runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Dillon Dove had a two-run home run, and Charlie Shavers went 2-for-3 with a run for the Wildcats.

Durango 9, Legacy 6 — At Durango, Dante Chavez was 4-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI to lead the Trailblazers past the Longhorns.

Jason Fazendin went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Bobby Wright was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Durango.

Legacy’s Brayden Torres was 2-for-4 with a double.

Faith Lutheran 16, Coronado 4 — At Coronado, Zach Skipper had three hits and struck out eight as the winning pitcher to lead the Crusaders past the Cougars in six innings.

Tyler Trageton went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and six RBIs for Faith Lutheran. Josh Murtha had four hits and David Edson added three hits for the Crusaders.

Dillon Fahr was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a double for Coronado, and teammate Tyler Brown went 3-for-4 with three doubles.

Liberty 18, Cimarron-Memorial 13 — At Cimarron, Jesse Keiser went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to help the Patriots hold off the Spartans for a victory.

Griffin Kelly was 2-for-2 to help Liberty, which blew most of a 15-2 fourth-inning lead. Teammate Mike Vargas also had two hits.

Ryan Corwin went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple for Cimarron, and teammate Gerald Robins was 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Moapa Valley 15-7, Virgin Valley 5-0 — At Overton, Josh Repp went 2-for-3 with three RBIs as the Pirates downed the Bulldogs in the first game.

Moapa Valley won the second game by forfeit after the game had been tied 10-10. Three Virgin Valley players and a coach, along with a Moapa Valley player were ejected after a scuffle at the plate, leaving the Bulldogs without enough players to finish the game.

Jake Repp went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the first game for Moapa Valley. Josh Repp was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Virgin Valley’s Nolan Tanner went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in the first game.

Moapa Valley’s Lane Stringham went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs in the second game, and Dillon Sullivan homered and drove in two runs.

Martin DeSantiago was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Bulldogs.

The Meadows 16-11, Laughlin 0-1 — At The Meadows, Justin Diamond homered and drove in two runs and combined with Drake Gordon on a three-hitter in the first game to highlight a pair of five-inning wins for the Mustangs.

The sweep helped The Meadows finish 14-0 in the Class 2A Southern League.

Bobby Pisanelli and Brandon Thomas also homered for The Meadows in the first game, and Pisanelli and Ian Holbrook had three RBIs apiece.

The Meadows’ Garrett Gosse and Pisanelli combined on a three-hitter in the second game. Anthony Gord doubled and drove in four runs for The Meadows.

Needles 11-13, Lincoln County 7-1 — At Panaca, Matt McAndrews struck out seven in five innings to get the win and went 2-for-3 in the nightcap to highlight a sweep for the Mustangs.

Austin Baldwin and Mason Cisneros each added two hits in the second game for Needles, which scored seven runs in the sixth inning to put the run rule into effect.

Needles’ Devon Truscott was the winning pitcher and tripled in the first game.

Garrett Johnson had a triple in each game for the Lynx.

Spring Mountain 6-1, Round Mountain 3-4 — At Mountain Ridge Park, junior right-hander Joseph Skeirik struck out what is believed to be a state-record 21 batters while firing a two-hitter with two walks in the first game as the Eagles earned a doubleheader split with the Knights.

Skeirik also struck out five in four innings of relief in the nightcap, and finished a combined 4-for-5 with two home runs, a triple and four RBIs on the day.
