ROUNDUP: Basic tops Western in Bengal-Aggie Kickoff

Josh Gray and Ryan Blatnik each went 3-for-3 to help Basic to a 9-2 home victory over Western in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff on Monday.

Tyler Long was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Josh Loden went 2-for-3 for the Wolves, who scored three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-2 lead.

Ryan Weldon threw a four-hitter with five strikeouts to pick up the win.

Arbor View 5, Bonanza 0 — At Arbor View, Evan McMahan fired a two-hitter as the Aggies downed the Bengals in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.

McMahan struck out six and walked none.

Tyler LeBaron provided most of the offense, going 2-for-3 with a pair of homers and three RBIs.

Bonanza pitcher Braiden Gray went the distance, allowing just four hits and striking out eight.

Spring Valley 8, Silverado 7 — At Spring Valley, winning pitcher Michael Macove went 2-for-3 and scored three runs to help the Grizzlies hold off the Skyhawks in the Bengal-Aggie Kickoff.

Drew LaComb was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Jose Rosales-Rodarte and Robby Brewster each went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Marty Sifuentes was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Silverado.

Sierra Vista 17, Durango 7 — At Sierra Vista, Tyler Burdett earned the win and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Mountain Lions over the Trailblazers in six innings in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.

Robert Lee went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs for Sierra Vista, which had seven doubles and rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the third inning.

Jacob Dismont and Rey Cardenas both homered for Durango.

Palo Verde 6, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Palo Verde, Cody Schuster went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBIs to lead the Panthers over the Crusaders in the Lion Kickoff Tournament.

Brett Bovee earned the win, striking out seven in four innings.
