BLAZER BASH: Spartans shut out Roosevelt on Bahr’s three-hitter

Brennan Bahr fired a three-hit shutout Tuesday to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s baseball team to a 4-0 home win over Roosevelt (Calif.) in the Blazer Spring Bash.

Bahr struck out 11 and walked none.

Effie Garcia was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and teammate Dominic Calabria went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Spartans.

Basic 13, Verdugo Hills (Calif.) 3 — At Basic, Isaac Perez went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and teammate Ryan Blatnik supplied two run-scoring doubles as the Wolves routed the Dons in six innings.

Ryan Weldon was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Basic, which got two hits apiece from Dean Gettman and Josh Gray.

Basic 7, Poly (Calif.) 2 — At Foothill, Tyler Long tossed a complete game, scattering five hits with five strikeouts, to help the Wolves hold off the Parrots.

Gettman went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Blatnik was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs for Basic, which got two hits each from Long and Weldon.

Sierra Vista 7, Cyprus (Utah) 2 — At Sierra Vista, Nolan Kingham gave up two hits and had no walks in six innings to lead the Mountain Lions past the Pirates.

William Silcox belted a two-run home run for Sierra Vista, which got two hits from Daniel Gonzales.

Palo Verde 5, Palos Verdes Peninsula (Calif.) 2 — At Durango,  Chris Hopballe homered, and Cody Schuster went 3-for-4 with two runs to lead Palo Verde to a win over Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Brett Bovee earned the win for Palo Verde, which got a triple from Dylan Dunseath.

Centennial 9, Birmingham (Calif.) 8 — At Las Vegas High, the Bulldogs rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Patriots.

Bryan Bonnell singled in the tying run, and Michael Rosenkrantz singled home the go-ahead run in the inning.

Bonnell was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, and Austin Nelson and Casey Moses each aded two hits and three runs for Centennial, which trailed 8-3 after four innings.

Randy Medellin was 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs for Birmingham.

Centennial 10, Banning (Calif.) 0 — At Centennial, Michael Yenkowski was 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs to help the Bulldogs to the five-inning win over the Pilots.

Rosenkrantz went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, and Moses was 2-for-2 with three runs for Centennial.

Will Loucks and Rosenkrantz combined on a two-hitter.

Foothill 5, Garfield (Calif.) 1 — At Foothill, Nick Cardinale allowed an unearned run on six hits to lead the Falcons past the Bulldogs.

Cardinale struck out five and walked none.

Tyler Van Stone went 3-for-3 with two triples and an RBI, and Bligh Madris was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for Foothill.

Arbor View 4, East (Utah) 0 — At Arbor View, Bryce Wildenberg fired a two-hitter to power the Aggies past the Leopards.

Wildenberg struck out 10 and walked two.

Evan McMahan and Zach Quintana each went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for Arbor View.

Temple City (Calif.) 4, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Jonah Jarrard was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI to drive the Rams past the Aggies.

Quintana had a solo homer in the top of the first for Arbor View.

Western 10, Campbell Hall (Calif.) 0 — At Centennial, Daniel Buzzard was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Warriors past the Vikings in six innings.

Ryan Garbowski went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Western, which scored six runs in the sixth to end the game.

Anthony Chojnacki allowed five hits in five innings to get the win.

Marshall (Calif.) 9, Western 3 — At Cimarron, Adan Torres went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBIs to lead the Barristers past the Warriors.

Western’s Josh Yocum was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Jesse Serrano doubled twice for the Warriors.

Carson (Calif.) 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Colts scored two runs on a throwing error in the bottom of the fourth inning for the final margin in a victory over the Miners.

Danny Guardado went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Sunrise Mountain.

Sunrise Mountain 7, Rim of the World (Calif.) 3 — At Las Vegas High, Jacob Riggs went 3-for-3 with a double and a run as the Miners downed the Fighting Scots.

Brandon Medeiros was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI for Sunrise Mountain, and Nick Snyder went 2-for-3.

Sunrise Mountain’s Auston Ganigan pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.

Boulder City 7, Poly (Calif.) 4 — At Foothill, Colton Shulz was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and the Eagles rallied for seven runs in the fourth inning to top the Parrots in a game called afer six innings by the tournament time limit.

Robby Jackson was 2-for-2 with a run for Boulder City.

Garfield (Calif.) 4, Boulder City 3 — At Foothill, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to edge the Eagles.

Garfield scored the winning run with two outs when a batter was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Shadow Ridge 14, Independence (Calif.) 4 — At Centennial, Travis Caskie was 1-for-1 with a triple and three RBIs to help the Mustangs roll to the five-inning win.

Josh Roelofs had a triple and an RBI, and Ben Fitzhugh had a double and an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Cleveland (Calif.) 4, Shadow Ridge 3 — At Centennial, the Cavaliers edged the Mustangs.

Mike Wager was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Chad Rillos was 3-for-4 and Mitchell Shields went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Birmingham (Calif.) 4, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas High, Daniel Rivas tossed a complete game, scattering six hits with six strikeouts, to help the Patriots hold off the Wildcats.

Daniel Gomez smacked a two-run double for Birmingham, which got two hits, including a double, from Jerry Zaragoza.

Nolan Cassell went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Las Vegas.

Eldorado 2, Monroe (Calif.) 1 — At Sierra Vista, Lucio Arreola threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Sundevils over the Vikings.

Eldorado’s Sammy Gonzales led off the top of the sixth with a double, and went to third on a fly ball by Arreola. Afer an intentional walk, Jacob Sedillo hit a sacrifice fly to score Gonzales with the go-ahead run.

San Fernando (Calif.) 9, Eldorado 0 — At Durango, Carlos Robles went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs and three RBIs to lead the Tigers past the Sundevils.

Isaac Dominguez was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Ruben Armenta and Miguel Hernandez combined on a one-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Cyprus (Utah) 18, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Sierra Vista, Austin Henriod homered, and the Pirates pounded out 19 hits on the way to the five-inning win.

Monroe (Calif.) 10, Pahrump Valley 4 — At Sierra Vista, Gerardo Rivera had a double and a triple to help the Vikings top the Trojans.

Richard Green was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI to lead Pahrump.

Cleveland (Calif.) 2, Moapa Valley 1 — At Centennial, Andrew Devian hit a two-run single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to help the Cavaliers nip the Pirates.

Moapa Valley’s Josh Repp pitched a complete game, allowing no earned runs on five hits.

Shane Terril had a double for Moapa Valley, and Jake Repp was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
