BASEBALL: Jordan, Shadow Ridge top Centennial on balk

Eric Jordan scored the winning run on a bases-loaded balk with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as Shadow Ridge’s baseball team outlasted visiting Centennial, 4-3.

The Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game.

The Mustangs loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning on a one-out walk, an error and walk with two outs.

Centennial made a pitching change, and reliever Jake Rogers was called for a balk before his first pitch, allowing Jordan to score and ending the game.

Jordan was 2-for-2 with a double and combined with Isaiah Blaylock on a three-hitter. Koby Millner was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.

Garrett Holden was 1-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Centennial.

Palo Verde 10, Desert Oasis 8 — At Desert Oasis, Dylan Orlando was 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in the second inning and a two-run single in the seventh inning to lead the Panthers over the Diamondbacks.

J.D. Brooks went 3-for-4 with a triple, and teammates Ryan Merino, Sam Powers and Mitchell Rathbun each provided two hits for Palo Verde, which led 10-6 before yielding two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Bryson Stott was 3-for-3 for Desert Oasis, and Brett Brocoff had two hits for the Diamondbacks.

Clark 4, Cheyenne 2 — At Clark, Stefan McLin hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Chargers over the Desert Shields.

Miguel Carrillo added a double for Clark.

Guillermo Rodriguez hit a double for Cheyenne, which scored twice in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 2.

Foothill 12, Wooster 11 — At Foothill, Anthony Pannullo’s one-out double in the bottom of the seventh scored three runs to give the Falcons the win over the Colts.

With Foothill trailing 11-9, Nate Young led off the bottom of the seventh with a single. After a sacrifice bunt, Alex Elizondo walked, and Shay Landers was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Pannullo’s hit drove in two runs, and Landers came home on an error by the center fielder for the winning run.

Pannullo was 2-for-4 with two runs, and Jack Fredericksen went 2-for-3 with a triple, a homer, three RBIs and two runs for Foothill. Young and Elizondo each added two hits for the Falcons, who plated five runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 9.

Tyler Schricker was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to lead Wooster.

Arbor View 6, Cimarron-Memorial 4 — At Arbor View, Jayce Gardner had two hits and two runs, and the Aggies used a five-run fifth-inning to rally and defeat the Spartans.

Dylan Anderson added two hits and an RBI for Arbor View, which trailed 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth.

Alexander Marco was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run for Cimarron.

Bishop Gorman 9, Bonanza 4 — At Gorman, Braxton Wehrle went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI to help the Gaels defeat the Bengals.

Myles Denson and Beau Capanna each went 2-for-4 with a double, and Austin Wells was 2-for-4 for Gorman. Jordan Sadoviah was 1-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs for the Gaels.

Bonanza’s Jay DeSoto was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Eric Schultz was 2-for-4 for the Bengals.

Spring Valley 7, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Pahrump, Nick Rupp struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings to lead the Grizzlies over the Trojans.

Rupp allowed one run on five hits.

Bryce Bullock was 4-for-4 with two home runs and a triple for Spring Valley, which got two hits from Rupp.

Cole Walker supplied two hits to pace Pahrump.

Durango 10, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Tait Ludwick was 5-for-5 with three RBIs and threw five solid innings to earn the win as the Trailblazers blanked the Longhorns in six innings.

Ludwick struck out seven.

Steven Giatti, Colin Marracco, Duke Pahukoa, and Richard Mascarenas each supplied three hits for Durango. Pahukoa had two doubles and three RBIs.

Anthony Lomeli tripled for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 10, Sierra Vista 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Jake Koentopp, Joshua Harmonay and Blake Giuliani each went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI as the Crusaders topped the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Josh Brown threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts to get the win. Zack Trageton and Jake Ortega each added two hits for Faith Lutheran.

Mojave 10, Western 0 — At Mojave, Scott Wilson threw a one-hitter, and Andrew Foley and Otto Hernandez each drove in two runs as the Rattlers blanked the Warriors in five innings.

Wilson didn’t allow a hit until the top of the fifth and threw only 50 pitches. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.

Chris Clawson went 2-for-3 with a triple, and teammate Elijah Glaze was 2-for-3 for Mojave.

Northridge (Colo.) 15, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Kaylor Werner was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs as the Grizzlies blitzed the Jaguars.

Chance Eben went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and teammates Justin Frye and Jacob Lombardelli each supplied two hits for Northridge.

Vasaifanua Hansell had a single and a run for Desert Pines.

Indian Springs 17, Calvary Chapel 3 — At Paul Meyer Park, Donald Watkins went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double as the Thunderbirds routed the Lions in five innings.

Ryan Frank was 3-for-3 with a double for Indian Springs, which scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning.

Christian O’Kelley’s double was one of two hits for Calvary Chapel.
