BASEBALL: Ayers leads Shadow Ridge to win

Quinn Ayers was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs Saturday to help Shadow Ridge’s baseball team to an 11-4 victory over Snow Canyon (Utah) in the Snow Canyon Classic in St. George, Utah.

Trevin Reynolds went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Isaiah Blaylock was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.

Justin Lee went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI for the Mustangs.

Winning pitcher Eric Jordan also had two hits. He gave up two earned runs on four hits over four innings with five strikeouts.

Lone Peak (Utah) 17, Shadow Ridge 15 — At St. George, Utah, Payton Freeman had a grand slam and five RBIs as the Knights outslugged the Mustangs in the Snow Canyon Classic.

After Shadow Ridge scored six runs in the top of the first, Lone Peak answered with 11 runs in the bottom of the inning and never trailed again.

Ayers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a double, six RBIs and two runs to lead the Mustangs.

Reynolds was 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs and two RBIs, and Jesse Meyer went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run for Shadow Ridge.

Lee, Jake Wilson and Koby Millner each added two hits for the Mustangs.
