Arbor View’s Quintana to play in All-American Classic

Arbor View shortstop Nicholas Quintana, a member of the Review-Journal's all-state first team this spring, was one of 26 players selected to represent the West roster at the Perfect Game All-American Classic to be held in San Diego on Aug. 16 at Petco Park.

Quintana, who in July finished fourth in the High School Select Home Run Derby at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, will be the only representative from Nevada to play in the prestigious all-star game.

He joins Bryce Harper (2009) and Joey Gallo (2011) as recent Southern Nevada participants.

Quintana, an Arizona commit, batted .433 with eight homers and 49 RBIs to help the Aggies advance to the state tournament in May.

In July, he made the 28-man roster for the 18U National Team Trials. He will be looking to make the final 20-man roster, which will be announced by USA Baseball next week after the second round of trials in Los Angeles.
