WRESTLING: Quick pins help Panthers top Bulldogs

Michael Tim won by fall in 32 seconds at 145 pounds Tuesday to lead Palo Verde’s wrestling team to a 48-30 win over host Centennial.

Tanner Castro (120), Matthew Giron (132) and Joshua Pine (152) also recorded pins in less than a minute for the Panthers.

Cole Dunn (170), Jonathan Carpenter (182) and Kaimana Phillips (285) also won by fall for Palo Verde.

Rodsen Mokiao (126), Earl Teopaco (138) and Hunter Brown (195) recorded pins for Centennial.

Palo Verde 57, Las Vegas 21 At Centennial, Giron (132), Tim (145), Pine (152), Carpenter (182), Kavika Covington (195) and Cole Judd (220) each won by fall to help the Panthers top the Wildcats.

Palo Verde also won three matches by forfeit.

Robert Kaempfer (285) was the only wrestler to win by pin for Las Vegas.

Centennial 57, Las Vegas 12 At Centennial, Ryan Pierce (113), Mac Tyra (132), Brown (195) and Roger Alvarado (220) each pinned their opponent as the Bulldogs cruised by the Wildcats.

Cruz Littlefield (182) and Kaempfer (285) won by fall for Las Vegas.

Pahrump Valley 46, Spring Valley 26 — At Pahrump, Jaxon Clayton pinned his 195-pound opponent in 21 seconds to help the Trojans beat the Grizzlies.

Gino Gusman (126), Nick Nelson (132) and Samuel Tucsnak (170) each won by fall for Pahrump, which won three matches by forfeit.

Spring Valley’s Jaebin Lee (113) and Dan Diaz (120) both pinned their opponents.
