WRESTLING: Nathan Rhoads helps Las Vegas earn three wins

Nathan Rhoads recorded two pins and a major decision on Tuesday to lead Las Vegas High to home victories over Mojave, Foothill and Shadow Ridge.

Rhoads pinned his opponent in 25 seconds at 120 pounds to lead the Wildcats to a 60-13 win over Mojave.

Rhoads had another first-period pin in a 60-13 win over Foothill, and won by major decision in a 37-26 victory over Shadow Ridge.

Robert Kaempfer and Sergio Balleseros each recorded two pins for Las Vegas.

Shadow Ridge 60, Mojave 9 — At Las Vegas, Javier Zuniga (106), Adrian Quibuyen (132), Jamison Rand (145), Marc Williams (160) and Deshawn Moore (170) each won by fall to lead the Mustangs by the Rattlers.

Mojave’s Dominic Mota won a 15-11 decision over Cole Burleson at 120 pounds.

Shadow Ridge 63, Foothill 12 — At Las Vegas, Cole Burleson (120), Nikko Brown (126), Jamison Rand (145), Kody Presser (152), Williams (160), Isaiah Eisenberg (195), Byron Kekahuna (220) and Michael Bellotte (285) each won by pin to lead the Mustangs over the Falcons.

Kohl Velado (132) and Wyatt English (138) won by fall for Foothill.

Foothill 48, Mojave 30 — At Las Vegas, Velado (132) won by pin, and the Falcons took advantage of six forfeits to beat the Rattlers.

Rancho 36, Liberty 31 — At Liberty, Jason Ipina (145), Gerson Herrera-Duarte (160) and Adrian Brown (220) each won by fall to carry the Rams over the Patriots.

Joshua Armstrong (120), Jake Smith (138) and Jared Whitton (285) won by fall for the Patriots.

Durango 45, Liberty 30 — At Liberty, Anthony Favela (106), Ricardo Perez (126), Donzae Jones (145), Jacob Bourgault (160), Brent Gray (170) and Aaron Gage (195) each recorded pins as the Trailblazers took down the Patriots.

Liberty won the two heaviest weight classes, picking up pins from Asbin Shreotha (220) and Jared Whitton (285).

Durango 52, Rancho 12 — At Liberty, At Liberty, the Trailblazers won seven matches by decision in a rout of the Rams.

Ruben Pagan (120)and Maximus Ah Loy (220) each won by fall for Durango.
