Two local teams fall in Connie Mack regional
Franky Sansone's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday lifted Thunder Sox Blue (Calif.) to a 2-1 win over Southern Nevada in the opening game of the Connie Mack Western Regional in Alameda, Calif.
Sansone drove in both runs for Thunder Sox, which erased a 1-0 deficit.
In the second game Wednesday, So Cal Renegades (Calif.) held off the LV Patriots, 2-1. The Patriots won the Nevada state tournament last week.
Southern Nevada will face the Patriots at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in an elimination game of the tournament, which runs through Sunday.
