ROUNDUP: Creswell, Spartans pull away from Trailblazers

Sarina Creswell went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to help lead Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team to an 8-2 home win over Durango on Wednesday.

Carli Stafford and Sarah Murphy each added a double and an RBI for Cimarron, which answered Durango’s two-run first inning with four runs of their own.

Dallas Boyce had six strikeouts for the Trailblazers, which got a double each from Mindy Larson and Alissa Martine.

Silverado 9, Desert Oasis 2 — At Silverado, Kaitlyn Amaral went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and Riana Splinter was 3-for-4 with a homer and a double as the Skyhawks defeated the Diamondbacks.

Ashlee Phillips went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, and Kiki Pindel and Kenna Turner each supplied a double for Silverado.

Winning pitcher Taylee Heckman went the distance for the Skyhawks, scattering four hits and striking out five.

Clark 10, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Kaitlyn Szeles went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer to lead the Chargers past the Desert Shields.

Alia Armstrong threw a four-hitter with seven strikeouts for Clark, which got two doubles from Julia Hagen.

Sami Cedar went 2-for-3 and scored the only run for Cheyenne.

Palo Verde 16, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Breanna Beatty hit a triple and two home runs as the Panthers dominated the Wildcats in five innings

Racheal Turner hit two doubles, and winning pitcher Kelsea Sweeny allowed one run on five hits.

Kristina Nelson hit a double for Las Vegas.

Tech 10, Canyon Springs 0 — At Tech, Amanda Roark tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks to as the Roadrunners downed the Pioneers in five innings.

Roark also went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk for Tech, which took advantage of 13 walks by Canyon Springs.

Mikayla Tribett had four RBIs for the Roadrunners.

Liberty 19, Faith Lutheran 9 — At Faith Lutheran, Francesca Foti went 3-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored as the Patriots downed the Crusaders in five innings.

Elli Brown was 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs for Liberty, which scored 10 runs in the top of the fifth.

Faith Lutheran’s Bri Yee was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Mandy Young had a double and three RBIs for the Crusaders.

Legacy 14, Valley 1 — At Legacy, Kiani Elia-Mendiola went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and also picked up the win in relief as the Longhorns topped the Vikings in five innings.

Sierra Pico was 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs and two RBIs, and Danielle Pick went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two runs and four RBIs for Legacy.

Foothill 17, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Hannah Stevens went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and four runs scored to help the Falcons rout the Dragons in five innings.

Rhiana Balaun went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs, Lauren Penska was 3-for-3 with a triple, and Hannah Russo went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for Foothill.

Alex Petrolia and Jordyn Derfinger combined on a two hit shutout, with Petrolia striking out eight in three innings.

Indian Springs 21, Calvary Chapel 1 — At Calvary Chapel, Brandi Bryl tossed a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and nine RBIs as the Thunderbirds routed the Lions in five innings.

Heather Thormahlen was 4-for-5 with a double, a homer and four RBIs, and teammate Bailee McCormick finished 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for Indian Springs.

The Meadows 21-19, Needles JV 5-7— At Needles, Noelle Young went 3-for-3 in each game for The Meadows, doubling twice in the first game and smacking a triple in the second game in a doubleheader sweep of Needles’ junior varsity.

Pitcher Victoria Onufrieff picked up the win in the first game and went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.

In the second game, Katie Magness had three hits for The Meadows, and teammate Robin Monkarsh also had three hits including a double.
