ROUNDUP: Floyd powers playoff-bound Clark girls in win over Warriors


Bobbi Floyd scored 34 points Thursday to help Clark’s girls basketball team secure the Sunset League’s No. 2 seed for the Division I-A Southern Region playoffs with a 61-40 win at Western.

Karllicia Stroughther added 13 points for Clark, which trailed 25-21 at the half.

Western’s Destiny Gonzalez had 14 points and 19 rebounds, and Guadalupe Herrera had 12 points for Western, which got 12 rebounds from Tenaya Williams.

Cheyenne 47, Mojave 31 —
At Cheyenne, Lajuana Brown scored 20 points to lift the Desert Shields past the Rattlers.

Larice Harper added seven points for Cheyenne, which led only 20-18 at the half.

Rayena Rael scored 12 points for the Rattlers.

Desert Oasis 44, Cimarron-Memorial 35 — At Desert Oasis, Sammi Tso posted 18 points to power the Diamondbacks to victory over the Spartans.

Savanna Spears added nine points, and Ashley Hibbard contributed seven points for Desert Oasis.

Emily Cox led Cimarron with 10 points.

Desert Pines 46, Boulder City 41 — At Desert Pines, Cydney Myles scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Jaguars to a win over the Eagles.

Raven Thomas supplied 10 points for Desert Pines, which used a 19-11 fourth-quarter run to pull away.

Kennedy Bird scored 17 points for Boulder City, which got 12 points from Alyssa Ybarra.

Virgin Valley 44, Chaparral 25 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard poured in 29 points as the Bulldogs topped the Cowboys.

Tichina Savoy paced Chaparral with six points.

Bonanza 41, Legacy 32 — At Bonanza, Trane’e Jenkins had 12 points and 16 rebounds, and the Bengals grabbed an 11-2 first-quarter lead on their way to a win over the Longhorns.

Alyssa Powers added eight points and 10 rebounds for Bonanza.

Deja Brown and Lelanie White each had eight points to pace Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 57, Pahrump Valley 29 — At Pahrump, Julia Benko poured in 26 points, including six 3-pointers, to help guide the Crusaders to a win over the Trojans.

Sam Leonard added 10 points for Faith Lutheran.

Shayla Dance led Pahrump with nine points.

Sunrise Mountain 55, Tech 34 —
At Sunrise Mountain, Brittany Veal had 15 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists to lead the Miners by the Roadrunners.

Lisa Carter added nine points for Sunrise Mountain, which outscored Tech 32-14 in the second half.

Carla Valle paced the Roadrunners with eight points.

Calvary Chapel 52, Mountain View 33 — At Calvary Chapel, Chloe Hammond had 20 points to lift the Lions past the Saints.

Phallen Nelson added 16 points for Calvary Chapel, which used a 16-5 third-quarter run to pull away.

Kiley Murphy led Mountain View with 17 points.
