GIRLS BASKETBALL: Myles, Jaguars use big third quarter to top Pirates

Chrystian Myles scored 20 points Friday to help Desert Pines’ girls basketball team hold off visiting Moapa Valley, 41-37.

See’Airrah Collins added eight points for the Jaguars, who used a 16-8 third-quarter run to take a 33-28 lead.

Kyla Shumway led the Pirates with 11 points.

Legacy 53, Desert Oasis 34 — At Desert Oasis, Markeshia Evans scored 11 points as the Longhorns rolled past the Diamondbacks.

Carolina Rahkonen added nine points for the Longhorns, who used a 20-7 second-quarter run to take control of the game.

Mikala Kirby led Desert Oasis with 15 points.

Bishop Gorman 56, Bonanza 32 — At Bonanza, Maddison Washington scored 17 points to lead the Gaels past the Bengals.

Skylar Jackson scored 11 points for Gorman, which led 32-4 at the half.

Tanganika Hunt scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half to lead the Bengals, and teammate Jasmine Brass added 10 points and four steals.

Centennial 71, Cimarron-Memorial 25 — At Cimarron, Ioana Ganeva scored 19 points to help the Bulldogs roll past the Spartans.

Tramina Jordan added 14 points, and Karina Brandon scored 11 for Centennial, which led 45-16 at halftime.

Shauntel Efferson led Cimarron with seven points.

Sunrise Mountain 68, Chaparral 44 — At Sunrise Mountain, Brittany Veal scored 18 points to lead the Miners past the Cowboys.

Ayla Diaz had 14 points, and Jasmyn Rodriguez scored 11 points for Sunrise Mountain, which used a 20-9 third-quarter burst to pull away.

Marcia Hawkins had 19 points for Chaparral.

Faith Lutheran 55, Cheyenne 40 — At Cheyenne, Haley Vinson led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Crusaders topped the Desert Shields.

Dani Tharaldson and Kim Munro added 10 points apiece for Faith Lutheran, which led 14-3 after one quarter.

Bria Buchanan led Cheyenne with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Virgin Valley 49, Tech 30 — At Tech, Abbie Barnard scored 25 points to lift the Bulldogs over the Roadrunners.

Becca Bramlage added 12 points for Virgin Valley, which pulled away in the third quarter.

Elena Bobadilla led Tech with seven points.

Western 49, Mojave 28 — At Mojave, Destiny Gonzales’ 26 points helped the Warriors rout the Rattlers.

Darria Gray had 11 points to pace Mojave, which led 10-6 after one quarter, but trailed 35-19 after three quarters.

Lincoln County 51, Mountain View 41 — At Panaca, Kayla Mathews had 14 points to help the Lynx down the Saints.

Kaylee Teel added 11 points for Lincoln County, which outscored Mountain View 32-14 in the middle quarters.

Rose Adkins had 16 points, and Caitlyn Martin had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Saints.

Calvary Chapel 59, Lake Mead 35 — At Lake Mead, Phallen Nelson poured in 29 points to help the Lions top the Eagles.

Shannon Regan had 11 points, and Savannah Schmidt scored 10 for Lake Mead.

The Meadows 41, Needles 34 — At Needles, Calif., Anjali Daulat hit 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter and had 11 points to lead The Meadows past Needles.

Melaney Mayes added 10 points for The Meadows.

Pahranagat Valley 56, Sandy Valley 18 — At Alamo, Kimberly Lewis had 14 points as the Panthers routed the Sidewinders.

Bailee Hosier scored 12 points for Pahranagat Valley, which led 29-4 after one quarter.

Esmerelda Madrid and Holly Rau each scored six points for Sandy Valley.
