Williams rushes for 324 yards as Spartans rout Crusaders


Cimarron-Memorial's Demaryae Williams rushed for 324 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries to propel the Spartans (3-1, 2-1 Northwest) to a 49-18 win over host Faith Lutheran (1-2, 1-2) on Friday.

Cimarron-Memorial scored on seven of eight offensive possessions, with six rushing touchdowns.

Williams scored on runs of 61, 11 and 5 yards. His 40-yard run set up a 1-yard keeper TD by Gerard Martinez, who also had a 2-yard TD and a 20-yard scoring pass to Justin Davis.

Cimarron’s Demarlo Lewis rushed for 85 yards on seven carries, with a 59-yard touchdown.

For Faith Lutheran, Gino DeGeorge threw a 16-yard TD pass to Chris Mays on fourth-and-goal and a 43-yarder to Sean Bishel on the game’s final play. Brad Pearson returned the opening kickoff of the second half 90 yards for a touchdown.

Mays finished with 101 yards receiving.
