Fumble return keys Muckers’ victory

Derek Otero scored on a 24-yard fumble return and a 24-yard pass from Seth Littlefield in the first quarter to spark Tonopah's football team to a 28-12 win at Indian Springs on Friday.

Tonopah (3-3, 2-1 1A Southern) led 21-12 at halftime and held on for the win.

Littlefield passed for 91 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 157 yards on 14 carries, including a 56-yard TD run in the second quarter. He also hooked up with Spencer Littlefield on an 11-yard scoring strike in the third quarter.

Taylor McLauchlin ran for 77 yards on six carries for Tonopah, and Emitt Davis added 44 yards on eight carries. Otero caught three passes for 55 yards.

Indian Springs’ Devin Jackson rushed for 114 yards and one TD on 14 carries, and Xavier Pena caught three passes for 19 yards and a score.

Indian Springs’ Troy Heath passed for 126 yards. Garrett Edwards had four receptions for 58 yards for the Thunderbirds (2-4, 0-4), and Dominic Morgando had four catches for 47 yards.
