SOFTBALL: Grizzlies strike early, down Aggies

Mariah Ward went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs on Tuesday to help Spring Valley’s softball team to a 7-3 win at Arbor View.

Raven Bierlein was 2-for-4 for the Grizzlies, who scored five runs in the second inning to build an early 7-1 lead.

Dacia Sykes was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs for the Aggies, and teammate Brittany Henricksen went 2-for-3.

Palo Verde 7, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Shadow Ridge, Haley Harrison went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Rachael Turner went 4-for-4 as the Panthers downed the Mustangs.

Kate Dennis was 2-for-3 with a home run for Shadow Ridge, which led 5-4 after five innings.

Green Valley 6, Las Vegas 5 — At Las Vegas, Autumn Owens’ RBI single in the top of the seventh inning plated Jinger Meuir with the go-ahead run to lift the Gators by the Wildcats.

Owens also homered for Green Valley.

Bethany Connell had two hits for Las Vegas.

Tech 23, Chaparral 22 — At Anthem Hills Park, Kimmie Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and six runs, and the Roadrunners used a 12-run sixth inning to rally past the Cowboys.

Megan Thomas added three hits and an RBI, and Jasmine Ramos had two hits and two RBIs for Tech, which trailed 19-11 entering the bottom of the sixth.

Vanessa Donham, Nayeli Rivas, Stephanie Romero and Sara Living each had three hits for Chaparral, which got a home run and four RBIs from Crystal Clark.

Boulder City 7, Virgin Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Charlene Masterson fired a two-hit shutout and struck out seven to help the Eagles blank the Bulldogs.

Mikalea Brown had three hits, including two doubles for Boulder City.

Durango 10, Sierra Vista 7 — At Sierra Vista, Dallas Boyce had three hits and two RBIs, and the Trailblazers scored twice in each of the final three innings to top the Mountain Lions.

Cheyanne Haas had three hits, including a triple and a double, and Cat Smith added three hits for Durango, which got a double and a triple from Kaitlyn O’Hearn.

Kalei Watkins was 4-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored for Sierra Vista.

Moapa Valley 10, Desert Pines 0 — At Overton, Daesha Stastny tossed a six-inning two-hitter to guide the Pirates past the Jaguars.

Cymoni Cooper was 4-for-4, and D.J. Carter, Shayla Pratt and Kinlee Marshall each supplied two hits for Moapa Valley, which used a five-run third inning to pull away.

Pahranagat Valley 14, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Sunrise Mountain, Madison Harris had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs as the Panthers downed the Miners in five innings.

Traci Strong and Monica Heredia each added two hits for Pahranagat Valley.

Natalie Sharp had two hits for Sunrise Mountain.

Rancho 14, Valley 0 — At Rancho, Brandy Marlett was 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a double, three runs and five RBIs to lead the Rams to a five-inning win over the Vikings.

Samantha Pochop tossed a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts for Rancho, which got three hits apiece from Jahnae Davis-Houston and McKinzi Vega. Sammi Llamas and Jacey Kelley each had two hits for the Rams.

Silverado 27, Canyon Springs 3 — At Canyon Springs, Madison Sisco hit a two-run home run as the Skyhawks routed the Pioneers in five innings.

Heaven Calhoun tossed a two-hitter with five strikeouts for Silverado, which scored in every inning.

Lake Mead 19, Agassi Prep 9 — At Tuscany Park, winning pitcher Taylor Webb went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored as the Eagles topped the Stars in five innings.

Briaunna Foster was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs, and Savannah Schmidt went 2-for-2 with four runs for Lake Mead, which got a 3-for-4 effort from Meredith Gallagher.

Darayon Moore was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for Agassi Prep.

Mountain View 26, Indian Springs 16 — At Mountain View, winning pitcher Savannah Alley went 4-for-5 with two doubles and nine RBIs, and Rose Adkins was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Saints defeated the Thunderbirds in five innings.

Sydney Saultz was 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Mountain View, which plated 14 runs in the bottom of the second after trailing 6-4.

Hannah Thormahlen was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Indian Springs.
