Five-run sixth gives Bonanza softball win over Spring Valley

Bonanza’s softball team rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on Saturday to claim a 14-12 home win over Spring Valley.

The Bengals trailed 11-9 going to the bottom of the sixth, but used five hits and an error to claim the advantage.

Bonanza tied the game on an RBI single by Brooke Detommaso, and scored two runs on an error to take a 13-11 lead.

Evalynn Sandoval and Brianna Hernandez-Silva each went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs for Bonanza. Hernandez-Silva had an RBI triple to start the scoring in the sixth.

Carla LaRosa went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI, and Detommaso was 2-for-4 with two runs for the Bengals.

Chryshelle Abril-Ryan was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI for Spring Valley, and Madison Hood and Mackenzie Norsworthy each added two hits for the Grizzlies.
