CRUSADER INVITATIONAL: Martin, Crusaders top Legacy

Winning pitcher Makena Martin was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs to help Faith Lutheran’s softball team to a 6-3 victory over Legacy in the winners’ bracket final of the Crusader Invitational at Faith Lutheran.

Lauren Beatty was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Andrea Rojas was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Alyssa Sotelo went 2-for-3 with a double for the Longhorns.

Alyssa Gastelum had a two-run home run for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 12, Eldorado 2 — Claire Peck was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs to lead the Crusaders by the Sundevils in four innings.

Ryleigh Gilchrist was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Erin Gilchrist went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Sierra Padilla was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Eldorado.

Legacy 14, Chaparral 0 — Kellie Nelson spun a one-hitter and struck out seven as the Longhorns routed the Cowboys in three innings.

Sotelo was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Lindsey Fishman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Legacy.

Eldorado 7, Western 4 — Heather Holman tossed a six-inning three-hitter and collected two hits and two RBIs to lead the Sundevils by the Warriors in a first-round game.

Kristie Thomas also had two hits for Eldorado, which scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Alexis Maeoki had two hits and an RBI for Western.

Eldorado 5, Tech 2 — Audrey Madrid had three hits to help the Sundevils eliminate the Roadrunners.

Avery Rayos had a single and an RBI for Tech.
