Outlook: Connell previously coached at Western and takes over a team that won 21 games last season and brings back seven starters.

“(Last year) was one of the best seasons in school history for the Diamondbacks, and we plan to build off that success again this year,” Connell said. “Desert Oasis returns a large majority of its letter winners and starters, including eight sophomores who round out a fairly young team.

“While the team may be young, the Diamondbacks are eager and prepared to show Las Vegas who we are and surprise the city with a deep run in the playoffs.”
