Outlook: The Spartans return just four starters from a team that placed third in the Southwest League.
“We seem to be a perennial rebuilding program,” Gorden said. “Each year we lose exceptionaly young ladies. Each year we gain exceptional young ladies to become young Spartans. A high majority of these young ladies have a few years’ experience and some have never played the game as a competitive sport.
“We hope to surprise some teams, but we will compete hard.”
