VOLLEYBALL: Durr, Desert Shields top Tech

Esther Durr had seven kills, three aces and three blocks Monday to lead Cheyenne’s girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 home victory over Tech.

Christine Sweet had five kills for the Roadrunners.

Spring Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Spring Valley, Danielle Amonica had eight aces and four assists to help the Grizzlies to a 25-7, 25-6, 25-8 sweep of the Miners.

Casey Van Hoose served nine aces, and Courtney Lance had seven aces for Spring Valley, which got six assists from Jessica Rafay.

Boulder City 3, Western 0 — At Western, the Eagles were 25-7, 25-14, 25-13 winners over the Warriors.

Western’s Capricia Pierce had two kills and two aces, and Destiny Gonzalez and Chaya Jordan each had three kills for the Warriors.

Adelson School 3, Calvary Chapel JV 1 — At Adelson School, the Lions were 25-14, 14-25, 25-20, 25-18 winners over Calvary Chapel’s junior varsity.

Moapa Valley at Las Vegas — The Moapa Valley at Las Vegas match was postponed because of poor travel conditions from Overton to Las Vegas. The match has not yet been rescheduled.
