VOLLEYBALL: Bergquist leads Mountain Lions to five-set win

Bailey Bergquist racked up 23 kills and 21 digs Wednesday to help Sierra Vista’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Centennial, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16, 23-25, 16-14.

Kira Felise had 38 assists, 18 digs and five kills, and Bridgette Levi added 13 kills, 23 digs and two aces for the Mountain Lions.

Kjersten Saunders had 11 kills, 29 digs and two aces, and Bailey Anderson added 11 kills, 28 digs and two aces for the Bulldogs. Hannah Hitchcock supplied 25 assists, two aces and 15 digs, and Talie Bonds contributed seven kills, eight assists and 22 digs for Centennial.

Faith Lutheran 3, Bishop Gorman 2 — At Gorman, Cayla Nikodemus had 19 kills and eight digs, and Morgan Hill added 14 kills, four blocks, four digs and two aces as the Crusaders rallied past the Gaels, 23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22, 15-5.

Megan Kronschnabel had 36 assists and three aces, and Haley Vinson added nine digs and three blocks for Faith Lutheran, which got three blocks from Casey Leonard.

Vashti Cunningham had 16 kills, and Victoria Ewalefo added 15 kills for Gorman. Abby Archambault added 11 kills, and Mya Ellis served six aces for the Gaels, who got four aces from Nicole Taormina.

Spring Valley 3, Moapa Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Jessica Rafay had 10 kills, and Danielle Lopez added nine kills as the Grizzlies rallied for a 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-17 win over the Pirates.

Danielle Amonica dished out 16 assists, and Courtney Lance had 13 digs for Spring Valley.

Shelbi Walker had six kills for Moapa Valley, which got 10 digs from Cheyenne Leavitt and eight digs from Marissa Perez.

Boulder City 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, the Eagles posted a 26-24, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23 win over the Diamondbacks.

Kaia Rhodes had nine kills and six blocks, and Ariel Blockovich added three kills, 30 assists, 14 digs and four aces for Desert Oasis. Madison Norr supplied eight kills and three digs, and Taylor Brock had five kills, two aces and 14 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Arbor View 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Arbor View, Karli Beas had 11 digs and seven aces, and Sarah Goddard notched 13 kills to help the Aggies sweep the Pioneers, 25-14, 25-13, 25-14.

Hannah Goddard had nine kills, and Kasey Kershaw added three blocks and two kills for Arbor View.

Maureen Talice had two kills, and Andreya Diaz-Conklin two assists for Canyon Springs.

Las Vegas 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Las Vegas, Samantha Remer recorded 13 digs, 12 kills and two aces, and Lexia Brockett tallied 27 assists and seven aces as the Wildcats swept the Spartans, 25-15, 25-19, 25-15.

Selena Rodriguez had eight digs and two aces, and Tajanae Davis supplied six kills for Las Vegas.

Maryana Shamoun notched 10 assists and three aces, and Breeana DeCoud had six kills and two digs for Cimarron.

Western 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Western, Chaya Jordan put down seven kills, and Destiny Gonzalez supplied five kills and three aces to guide the Warriors to a 25-17, 29-27, 25-11 sweep of the Jaguars.

Meleanie Ngaue and Paola Espino each had three kills to lead Desert Pines.

Cheyenne 3, Del Sol 0 — At Cheyenne, Esther Durr had six kills and six aces, and Ebony Cavaco dished out eight assists to lead the Desert Shields by the Dragons, 25-20, 25-15, 27-25.

Del Sol’s Azhwalaee Oliver had eight kills and two blocks, and teammate Nicki Zuniga added 11 digs.

Mountain View 3, Indian Springs 0 — At Mountain View, Aariel Armstrong had 13 aces and four kills, and Rose Adkins added six kills as the Saints swept the Thunderbirds 25-13, 25-14, 25-19.

Ally Whiting supplied five digs for Mountain View.
