Outlook: While many squads would have been thrilled to advance to a region semifinal, the Gaels had a bit of a down season by their standards last year, due in large part to their youth.
Cunningham (248 kills, 24 aces, 32 blocks), Archambault (162 kills, 23 blocks), Brennan (113 kills, 38 blocks), Lobato (315 assists, 16 blocks) and Nielson (190 digs) all return and should lead the Gaels, who had their streak of five straight state tournament appearances snapped last year.
"We are still a young team with only three seniors, but our expectations are high and we expect to be one of the top teams in Southern Nevada and return to state," said Van Meetren. "We are very deep and have an outstanding group of juniors, sophomores and even a few freshmen who will contribute before the end of the year."
