GIRLS SOCCER: Morris’ hat trick sparks Cougars

Michaela Morris scored three goals Friday to lead Coronado’s girls soccer team to a 5-2 home win over Bishop Manogue.

Taylor Houston had a goal and an assist, and Courtney Dramm also scored for the Cougars, who got two assists from Ashley Comandatore.

Cimarron-Memorial 5, Eldorado 0 — At Cimarron, Jaymee Luke had two goals as the Spartans blanked the Sundevils.

Kaylen Dodson had a goal and an assist, and Natasha Martin scored for Cimarron, which also benefited from an own goal.

Hyley DiBona made six saves en route to the shutout.

Green Valley 9, Durango 1 — At Durango, Alexis Kirson had three goals and an assist to lead the Gators by the Trailblazers.

Talia Lopez added two goals for Green Valley, which got a goal and an assist from both Sydney Holborrow and Maggie Bender. Isabel Madrid and Madison Holborrow each added a goal for the Gators.

Alyssa Nunez scored Durango’s lone goal in the second half.

Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Valley, the Vikings blanked the Miners.

Legacy 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Mesquite, Tavia Wells, Nadia Hernandez and Courtney Kashin each had a goal to lead the Longhorns by the Pioneers in the Mesquite Cup.

Alysa Cool recorded eight saves en route to the shutout.

Foothill 1, Legacy 1 — At Mesquite, the Falcons and Longhorns each scored a second-half goal and played to a tie in the Mesquite Cup.

Foothill advanced to the tournament championship match by virtue of a penalty-kick shootout.

Hernandez scored for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 3, Truckee 2 — At Reno, Cameron Bracey’s goal with five minutes remaining lifted the Crusaders by the Wolverines in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Megan Donnelly and Emily Neighbors also scored for Faith Lutheran, which rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit.

Faith Lutheran 3, Elko 1 — At Reno, Bracey, Donnelly and Kristi Chinn each scored once as the Crusaders downed the Indians in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Bishop Gorman 5, Churchill County 1 — At Reno, Hannah Borgel had three goals and two assists to power the Gaels by the Greenwave in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Margaret Essa and Savannah Day also scored for Gorman, which got two assists from Corynne McEachern.

Bishop Gorman 4, McQueen 0 — At Reno, Janey Fielden scored twice to lead the Gaels by the Lancers in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Borgel added a goal and an assist, and McEachern dished out two assists for Gorman. Jessica Anaya was in goal for the shutout.

Douglas 12, Boulder City 0 — At Boulder City, the Tigers stormed out to an 8-0 halftime lead and put away the Eagles.
