GIRLS SOCCER: Green Valley knocks off first-place Coronado

Alexis Kirson had two goals, and Green Valley’s girls soccer team upset visiting Coronado 4-2 on Thursday in a Southeast League girls soccer match.

It was the first league loss for Coronado since a 2-1 setback to Eldorado on Oct. 9, 2012, and ended the Cougars’ 42-match league unbeaten streak (37-0-5).

Hailey Thomas finished with a goal and an assist, and Maggie Bender added a goal for the Gators, who led 3-0 at halftime.

Isabel Madrid and Jazlyn Hall each had an assist for Green Valley.

Katelyn Moxley and Olivia Meza scored for Coronado.

Foothill 3, Liberty 0 — At Foothill, goalkeeper Natalie Williams had six saves to earn the shutout as the Falcons blanked the Patriots.

Paityn Toohey, Elise Bush and Amber Risheg scored Foothill’s goals.

Aqua Williams, Kamryn Lovato and Gabby Anderson each had an assist for the Falcons.

Silverado 7, Basic 1 — At Basic, Victoria Bravo had two goals and three assists as the Skyhawks blitzed the Wolves.

Margie Farnsworth supplied two goals and an assist for Silverado, which got a goal apiece from Melina Amador, Bryanna Narvaez and Kayla Meyer.

Mckenzie Davis added two assists for the Skyhawks.

Heavyn Lopez had Basic’s goal with an assist from Kayleigh Rawlins.

Bishop Gorman 9, Durango 0 — At Durango, Tavin Hays netted four goals, and Hannah Borgel had a goal and four assists as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.

Jaden Terrana scored twice, and Taylor Cox added a goal and two assists for the Gaels, who led 7-0 at halftime.

Norina Romo had a goal and an assist, and Kate Swanis and Gianna Lacey each notched an assist for Gorman.

Kirsten Kircher and Emily Hong combined for the shutout.

Desert Oasis 3, Bonanza 0 — At Desert Oasis, Gabriella Nevinger, Mazeli Rangel and Brianna Lane scored second-half goals to help the Diamondbacks get past the Bengals.

Miah Strelnauer had two assists, and Samantha Gato had two saves to earn the shutout for the Diamondbacks.

Clark 2, Spring Valley 0 — At Clark, Dabani Rayo scored twice in the first half to lift the Chargers over the Grizzlies.

Cinthia Casiano-Ramirez and Kanoe Mores combined on the shutout.

Virgin Valley 4, Moapa Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnum had two goals and had an assist to lead the Bulldogs past the Pirates.

Kallie Graves finished with a goal and an assist, and Ally Wright also had a goal for the Bulldogs, who scored three times in the first half to take control.

Goalkeeper Kristina Anquiano had five saves to preserve the shutout for Virgin Valley.

Boulder City 2, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Madison Manns and Kerry Helvig each had a first-half goal to lead the Eagles over the Dragons.

Stephanie Tewart scored for Del Sol.

Tech 5, Chaparral 0 — At Tech, Valerie Webb had three goals and an assist as the Roadrunners blanked the Cowboys.

Adriana Guzman had a goal and two assists, and Melissa Lopez also scored for the Roadrunners.

Analysa Zepeda and Samantha Elliot each had an assist.

Goalkeeper Chloe Dody had one save to preserve the shutout.
